sin city (i have seen but i liked it very much) or,

either of spiderman 1/2 (haven't see, may never see otherwise unless a friend buys the dvd and makes me watch it).

bascialy, is spiderman worth the minutes of my life it is going to consume?(bearing in mind i have drunk half a bottle of whiskey and a pint bottle of strong beer so i can't deal with plot lines i don't already know.)

Seconded. Motion carried.

Though Sin City is a much better film IMHO, I'd always go with the film you haven't seen before.

depends. which "plotline" do you "know"?

the Spiderman in the movies follows the Ultimate storyline more the original one. so there are changes.

my solution. BUY Sin City and rent the Spiderman stories. if you're not sure, why purchase them when it's cheaper to rent it?

The Princess Bride.

no non no that is a terribly film. i am honestly flabbergasted that people compare it to monty python. it's about 100 light years below mp in terms of hilaritude and depth and involvememnt and stuff.

I certainly wouldn't compare it to Python, but it's a damn fine film.

well i've seen sin city (which i loved) and i know nothing about spider man apart from the suit. and i'm downloading so there is no cost involved. i don't tend to buy dvds cuz i rarely watch anything more than once, and all the rental places are closed at this time (probably). not that i would actually bother leaving the flat to rent anything.

I'd plump for Spiderman 2 if you had to choose between the films, purely for Bruce Campbell's superb cameo.

lol! thing is, i've seen the princes bride at least 3 times and it fell below my expectationsa everytime, even when i wasnt stoned or drunk or whatever. so i shan't be watching it voluntarily again. no doubt i will see it again because my voice is ritually drowned IRL but not if i can help it :p

they made some changes to the original "bitten by a radioactive spider" origin. tho I love the scene with Roddy Pipper in it. :D

Fair nuff. No point pushing someone into a subjective experience they dislike.

For me, the film grows on me each time I watch it. And I nearly piss myself each time Peter Cook says "mawwaige".

i suspect my expectations were inflated beyong resonable capacity the first time i watched it because i get ridiculously critical when i'm stoned and it was compared to monty python which it barely even strokes the arse of to be quite honest.

He's the actor who played Ash in Evil Dead, also directed by Sam Raimi. Campbell plays a theatre usher, and is on-screen for about 30 secs, if that.

But there's loads of Evil Dead homages all the way through the second film; watch out for Ash's car, a scene with Doc Oc that's very reminiscent of scenes in Evil Dead 2, and a few other bits and pieces.

EDIT>> turns out Campbell has cameoed in all the Spiderman films,-.

i should perhaps mention that i am a filmic philistine and generally pay no attention to 'artists' only the art they produce, so names tend to mean nothing to be. i consider myself now educated, but for how long i would not care to calculate.

Who compared it to Monty Python? Thats not really a good comparison. Its a movie that seems to get funnier every time you watch it as well.
