It's the morning of monday, and most of us are back to work/school after the week-end.

Your feeling about it?

I would still be in bed, but I got up at 8 to try to calm my girlfriend when she had a panic attack. Now I feel like I should make the most of the day, but instead I'm sitting here posting on NS.

my father's assigned rest days most of the time i was growing up were tewsday and wodensday. i always wanted tuesday, wensday and thorsday myself and just work friday saturday, sunday and monday. one day being as much my 'lord's day' as another. unfortunately, i never did have that kind of a shift job like that, although i did once have one where i worked 12 hours a day for four days and got three off which gave me a two days worth of overtime every week besides. now though, every day of the week is like every other except for the local transit schedule. which, if i could deal with people and driving at the same time, i would gladly drive saturday and sunday for them. and take my assigned rest days in the 'middle of the week', like people who work second, third, or relief shift for the railroad, highway maintainence, power and phone companies do.

Woke up feeling like crap.
Work was ok.
Lost one lesson due to exams, which was good.
Sat around counting the hours until the end of the day and week (Easter break coming up).
One of the local teachers calls me into the staffroom at 4 and presents me with a huge Black Forest chocolate cake she made because she remembered it's my birthday this week.

So it turned into a pretty good day, really.

On the plus side, the forums are fixed for me! I've been having to log in with my puppet for ages to post, but now I can return! And continue not to post anything! Except lots of exclamation marks!

I'm thinking that's the plan for next year. :)

And then i'll probably be almost $50,000 in debt before I get a job. :P

Best I ever manage to make is coffee. Usually I just manage a mess.

I was vaguely planning to sign up to a free ECDL course (it's not that I can't use computers - far from it - but employers just don't believe you can so much as switch a computer on if you don't have a certificate saying you can). Though that means going into town. And it's cold outside.*

*This may or may not be true. The curtains are still closed. However, it is almost certainly colder outside than it is in here.

It is worse than that. You need a bit of paper that is recognised in the place you are, as a bit of paper from somewhere else may not mean what it says.

As to Mondays, meh, same as any other day.

Go for it! I don't think the ECDL is desperately complicated (not done it myself, but have done a few CLAIT thingies), and it'll get you out of the house. And it's sunny-looking here. Might even be warm.

Yeah, I probably will, if only to stop the inevitable feeling of self-loathing I'll get at the end of the day if I don't.

i generally hate monday mornings but i'm feeling pretty good today. this despite the fact that i was woken up by the builders next door at half 8 after only about 4 hours sleep and i got drunk last night and i have to clean the flat day. i think my newly discovered ability to make fantastic mocha coffee is helping, wish i had a milk frother though, then it'd be perfect.

Finance at 8 on a Monday morning?

Do the people doing your timetable not like you?

the timetablers at our school don't like anyone. there's always excess conflicts of courses and exams, to the point of ridiculousness. so one of the business professors gets the idea of assigning his student a senior thesis of developing a more efficient timetable. the subject of this professor's research, incidentally, being efficiency in business time management. so the student makes the new timetable for courses and exams and lo! it has 30% fewer conflicts (a single student made it that much better). so this professor sends along an email to the scheduling office, showing how a little enterprise and imagination could ease the number of conflicts.
their reactions:
1) told him to fuck off
2) forwarded the email to the dean of somethingorother studies, who promptly told him to mind his own business, and fuck off

next time someone tells you universities are centres of enlightenment, tell them to fuck off too.

i hate mondays mornings.

i hate all mornings. but i loved seeing this poll first thing, that's brilliant.

Well, I'd say something like I wouldn't be up now if I hadn't been driving my dad to the bus stop, but that's actually not true given my recent sleeping habits.

Not that it matters...I have no job or school, so a schedule at the moment is meaningless.

It all depends: Some Mondays are great and I'm full of energy to start a new week - others are... slower and I sort of need to jumpstart the week.

I stayed up far too long yesterday so I'm a little behind in schedule, but it's been good. I received highly anticipated mail with my "new" RAM I bought last week on eBay and it works great, so despite my little delay, it's a good start into the week. :D

So far, it's
"Monday, Monday, so good to me
Monday mornin', it was all I hoped it would be"
But I won't continue with that song 'cause we all (should) know how it ends. ;)

Anyway, I have seen T-shirts that read "Montags könnt' ich kotzen" (=I could puke on Mondays) and maybe I should get one of those just in case. :p

It's been alright. Got up had school which is a 30 minute walk but my iPod decided to die. Got home, received a free t-shirt in the mail and now find out there isn't anyone to pick my sister up from school so I'll have to pick her up later than usual. Plus my driving instructor is late....actually mondays suck.

You'd think that telling a prospective employer that I've been using PCs since the age of 9 would give them some insight into my abilities with a computer. Or not.

I like my job. I usually work weekends anyway. This weekend I worked on my friend's computer and taught my other friend how to use hers. Last night I stayed at the bar way too late talking to my pilot friend. Then he got pissy like he usually does when he gets too lit. Usually I make my exit when I see that mood coming. This time it snuck up on me.

So here I am. Tired, but overall feeling well. I love the job I have right now.
