Ever nearly killed someone by accident?

But not actually hurt them? Or almost been killed by someone else by accident?

I almost killed my brother when I lifted up a big tree log and just let it drop without really thinking. It fell very heavily just inches from his head. I guess that made us even since he pushed me down the stairs when I was a toddler.

If I told you, I'd have to... no, wait, you'd have a fatal "accident". ;)

No, hasn't happened and I really hope that it won't happen.

Hurt and injured people? Yes. And I broke a dying man's ribcage once. Other than that, nope. :p

Every time I drive in, or ride in, a car.

People don't seem to be aware of how travel by car is like Russian Roulette.

I almost shot someone with an arrow during my PE class back in high school. However, they ran behind the targets on a dare from their friend.

I nearly killed someone when I was driving along minding my own business when a girl standing on the pavement literally collapsed like a felled tree in front of my car, she had passed out after taking some drug or other and made no attempt to save herself, she smashed her face on the tarmac and lost 4 teeth in the process, when I stopped the car I did not know if I had missed her or not, and could not see her as I walked from the car door, she was laying face down UNDER the front of my car with the front tyre virtually touching her, with a pool of blood around her head. It was a very close call for her, a very scary incident for me and it has made me very aware of people standing by the side of the road.

Yes, I almost ran into someone jogging by once when I miscalculated how icy the road was and lost control of the van.

That's the only instance I can remember, but I'm sure there are others.

Not as bad as it sounds - I was doing CPR as a paramedic... and the patient was beyond saving. But since only a doctor can make the call to stop, we had to go on for about 15-20 minutes, which is virtually forever when you're doing CPR...

There was a girl at our school who didn't have the will to live any longer, so she took her car and drove straight into an intersection as to attempt suicide, but she wasn't hurt at all. Who was hurt was the occupants of the other car, a grandmother and her young grandchild, who were going out for ice cream. They were both killed. The girl faces criminal charges.

Back on topic - the time that springs to mind was in the car. It was soon after I started driving on my own, and entirely my fault. But no one was hurt, and I learnt much more valuable lessons about driving than you can ever be taught with an instructor.

I actually ran over someone over with a Go-cart. However, since they were an attendant it was okay. It was an accident by the way, so I'll I got was being banned from the go cart track.

At my ninth birthday party, my friends and I almost suffocated my then-seven year old sister under a pile of sleeping bags, pillows, and ourselves.
Eh why??

1. Earlier this year I bet my brother I could ride this tiny little bike down the road by our house. (Very steep road). Anyway I was flying along on this bike that even at my 5'6" self I dwarf, and I took a right turn into our driveway probably doing about 20 or 25 on this little contraption. My idiot neighbor(who was watching) walked out in front of me was I came speeding in. I didnt have time to brake (one of those bikes where you pedal backwards to brake ) and I took a quick swerve to the left. Unfortunately he went he samed way. I slamed into him and I flew over the handelbars and landed on my head. Somehow I didnt get hurt but I broke his arm and fractured his rib.

2. About two years ago I was riding a go-cart out in a field when I tried to do one of those cool quick turn around thingys (yeah that doesnt describe it, its slamming on brakes, doing a 180 degree turn and speeding off the other way) and I rolled the thing into a tree, which I didnt see. The gas tank lit and I got out with a couple of little burns. (And it wasnt my go-cart)

3. Different go-cart this time about a year ago (yes my chronological order is fantastic isnt it?) well any way this one is WAY mroe powerful. I was going along this dirt road and swerved to miss a dog. Needless to say I smashed a pump used to irrigate fields and this caused the back of the go cart to lift up and I did a nice front flip into an irrigation canal. The go-cart was fine after some minor repairs and I just got some bruises:D .

i nearly stabbed someone in the spine with a compass when i was about 10. they were bullying me (i guess, more of a systematic thing that came to a head) and i swung at them without thinking. unfortunately i had a pair of compasses in my hand (inch and half spike too) which plunged into their back. missed their spine fortunately otherwise they could be paralysed or something. the person is actually dead now but it was nothing to do with me, they were on crack at the time so it was probably an overdose.

I think I probably would've been killed but maybe not. I saw this light up ahead at whally ring road and I think like 106th or so (for those of you who live in surrey BC), anyways so this light has been green the entire time it's been in my vision (about a block cause the road curves) and I was like maybe I should speed up to make it, but I figured the sooner I got to work, the sooner I would have to start work. So I didn't and then right when I was in the intersection the light turned yellow, before I even knew what was going on I slammed on my brakes and layed on the horn, a car zoomed right in front of me against the red light going about 90. If he had hit me , it would've been on my drivers side, i don't know if I would've lived, probably not if he hit the door.

I've nearly gotten killed more times than I can count.

There was a couple weeks ago, at an intersection... it was about 6 AM, pitch black out. A bunch of cars passed, but the last one stopped at the light. I looked up, saw it was red, so I walked forward. Next thing I know, I hear screeching brakes: the jackass tried to run the red for some odd reason, and came about six inches to me.

I got plowed into by a bus at low speed a few months ago. It knocked me on my ass, and I had to roll onto the sidewalk because the driver didn't want to have to stop to check on me. Also, some time before that, a car hit me at low speeds (it was dead stopped when I got in front of it) and I ended up on the hood. I ended up nearly breaking my hand on his driver side window as he took off... which was probably wise on his part. He was a small guy.

Also, I got hit on the back of the head by a brick, once. There's some other things too...

I was almost killed or seriously injured by accident. I was walking home and there was a big truck in the way, blocking off my view of the narrow road I was about to cross. Short and foolish 12 year old that I was, I decide to cross the road after looking both ways. Lo and behold, after I passed said truck I saw that there was a sports car barrelling right for me, about to crush me beneath its wheel. Fortunately, I was able to jump to the side quickly and save myself. The driver must have known that I would be able to get away, since he didn't slow down at all! What a smart man.

I had a fight with an asshole who was two years older than I was (I was eight years old). He was bigger than me, so he thought it'd be a piece of cake to knock me out cold.

Funny, because it didn't quite go that way. He tried to punch me in the face, and I dodged it. I jumped on his back, which was followed by him throwing me off... And then, I got really pissed off. I ran at him and tackled him, and began to strangle him. He somehow got free, which pissed me off further (yeah, that was the real breaking point).

He did the wrong thing, really. I ran at him again tackled him, got on his back, and began to choke the hell out of him. I think it was about ten seconds worth, and then he summoned the strength to throw me off yet again. I landed on my head, and I went into a rage and assaulted him like mad, kicking and punching as fast and hard as I could. My dad heard screaming (not from me :p), and he came out to break up the fight.

I was off clean, because he knew what a dickhead that other kid was (he saw him punch various kids in the gut in the hallway of the local intermediate school after lunch). So there I was, with my friend (who was also two years older than me), watching my dad bawl the living shit out of that asshole... Who had been crying because I beat the crap out of him. I would've done a lot more had my dad not come outside... I wouldn't have killed him, but I would've seriously injured him. So I guess he's pretty lucky.

Oh, and I've had to beat the living shit out of my brother several times over the years. Keep in mind that he was always a foot taller than me when this happened, as well as three years my senior. My dad did nothing about him taunting and hitting, his nastiness, him flicking me in the forehead repeatedly, or him grabbing my head and bumping it into various walls and doors. Dear old dad would usually just tell him to "stop it" with no disciplinary action whatsoever.

As you can guess, he'd piss me off quite severely several times, and he would pay for it. I almost broke his back once, as I jumped on it with a knee dive after I knocked him down.

Yeah, I've had to deal with a lot of bullshit over the years, from my brother, my dad, and various other people. And what I've written here isn't even the start of it... It's safe to say that I know how to handle myself in a fight.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention the fights I've been in.

Really, anyone has been in a fight is lucky they don't go to prison on manslaughter charges. It's ridiculously easy to kill a person with your bare hand, and it doesn't even take much force.

Case in point: A few years ago at my school, a fight broke out. They belligerents were broken up and marched towards the security office single-file, and the one in the back punched the other in the back of the head. This disrupted his medulla oblongata, and killed him. The other kid is still in prison.

When I was 12 we lived in a house that had a huge hill for a driveway. My brother liked to be pushed down the hill on his bike. One day I pushed him out in front of a car. I just wasn't looking and it didn't enter into my brain that maybe I should be looking for cars before pushing him down the hill.

The car literally stopped one inch from his nose.

Ugh. That's one of my worst memories. I feel guilty about it still. I damn near killed my little brother being an idiot.

Only my brother. That hardly counts. I was about 15 or so, trying to sleep and he continually knocked on my door for about a half hour just to annoy me. Worked, I opened the door, got him around the throat and squeezed til he went purple and collapsed.

He's come perilously close to severe injury several times by me.

I was once demonstraighting a neck lock in a dynamic stiuation as part of one of my Jiu jitsu classes. The person aiding me with the demostration was a bit taller than me and i put too much effort into the lock, although I went to release the lock through the move to avoid his death, his head just seemed to move with my hands. There was a very nasty cracking sound and he was in a lot of pain, he and I were both very lucky, he only suffered light injuries. He really came very close to death.

It is my firm belief that getting on one of those 4-wheel motor cycle things lowers one's intelligence by at least 20 points. Many times Ive come over a hill and found a kid---I mean less than 10 to 50--doing donuts in the middle of the road. No helmet no protection of any kind. I guess they only have one speed--wide open.

The closest I've come to killing someone: I was out on the mail route and popped over a hill and two women were on a narrow, gravel, country road. Side-by-side, taking up the whole road. Each woman had a pre-school child on each fender (4 babies). They were coming at me wide open. I took the ditch and just missed them by a few inches.

They just kept going like nothing happened.

Good four wheeler will go about 80mph. Actually had a couple people arrested for going 80 on the highway here on them. Things get up and go FAST. Pretty suicidal though.
