We've seen a few heated threads develop lately where the topic is a perennial favourite on 'general' type fora. Which is the one that you most love to hate (but cannot seem to stay out of)?

Plus any that I've missed. Poll hopefully incoming.

None. I only read and/or post in threads that I am interested in reading and/or posting in. I dont groan over the ones that dont interest me because I dont see anything groan-worthy about other people having a discussion that interests them even where the subject matter or tone of the discussion isnt my cup-of-tea.

Evil is a philisophical concept. Nuclear weapons were used in World War II when they were first developed on Japan because otherwise the cost in lives for both the Japanese and the United States would have been far greater with an invasion of the main Japanese islands. I am firmly against the death penalty and am seeking to get it permenantly removed from the law books as punishment.

I wouldn't call the government overly corrupt...certainly not anywhere near to the extent of a tinpot African dictatorship, to use your words. Is there corruption, though? Of course. There is corruption in any government.

Is s/he speaking of Washington the state or Washington D.C., though? Because I'm pretty sure Washington the state does not match up with any African nation in any negative statistic.

Besides, this is about which of those topics you find morbidly attractive, not the content of the topics themselves.

Years ago, I used to engage with many of the polled topics (and others) with gusto; ad hominem and all. Then I realised that the more heated or polarised a debate becomes, the less likely it is to go anywhere or for anyone to learn anything from it. Yet unless policy is going to be set on the result, what else is the point?

Firearms threads (when no pictures are included). The reason is many people try to make us justify our owning of firearms with need. Then there are the people that stick their fingers in their ears and yell, "LALALALA GUNS ARE EVIL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO LISTEN TO REASON LALALALA!".

Now, if (firearms) pictures were shown in these threads, at least I'd have something interesting to look at. :D
