On a recent thread (about the German judge who denied the Muslim woman an immediate divorce and based her decision, in part, on Muslim law), the responses of one individual made me angry enough to put him on my ignore list. I also indulged in name calling - referring to him as an ass. I'm having second thoughts now. Should I continue to confront him and attempt to reason with him or should I continue to ignore him because It's quite likely that I might become sufficiently angry to say something that will call down modly wrath if I don't?

You should spam some more, not just here, but in dozens of identical threads posted every five seconds or so. Haven't seen that since the MichaelJacksons. ;)
Confront him, it's no good botteling these things up inside, now i havent read through that thread, got bored, but i say go for it!

Though religious, I advocate reason and rationality. If you are confident in your ability to control your words and not respond in anger, then act accordingly. If not, run with that.

On this board, it is inevitable that you'll meet people who rub you the wrong way. You have only two choices, really: let them constantly get to you, thus driving you towards a coronary and eventual heart-attack (not to mention that you'd probably get into shouting matches all the time and generally annoy everyone else because of it) or forgive the person for their faults and move on with your life.
Personally? I'd turn the cheek.
