I find the Dead Kennedys to be one of the best bands ever. I think there's probably some people on NSG who agree with me.

I really like "Moon over Marin" and "Do the Slag".

Also, the whole "California Uber Alles"-"We've got bigger problems" parrellels are awesome.

No, not the lead singers. The lead guitarists. Think about it-sword fighting with guitars.

Yeah, but this is about the Dead Kennedy, something that actually doesn't matter.

Never been a fan of the 'punk' sound, politics aside. Another for the 'meh' column.

Nah. Put them the other way round, then I'll agree with your little equation.

I can see why you might think that, but my preference for GMCOGMD is because it was the first DKs record I bought, way back when I was first getting into music.

Lard is good, but no match for the DKs...

Although I like Jello's collaboration with the Melvins too. But that's a given, since I was already a Melvins fan...

Best national anthem ever for a police state: The Man with the Dogs

Watch where you're walking
The dogs run around your toes

Well, Ted was in that oldsmobile that went off the road. Hence spawning Dave Barry's phrase, which he used once, and I stole, "Faster then Ted Kennedy gets out of a submerged oldsmobile" which is probably in competition for most horrible saying ever.

Biafra was nominated for president? How wasn't he elected?

Although I agree with the never be with the dems bit. He's way to radical.

Oh, the humor of someone going by Jello Biafra telling us Jello Biafra was nominated for president.

Biafra was nominated for president? How wasn't he elected? He wasn't seriously campaigning, he wanted Nader to win the nomination, but he felt that by keeping his name in the race for a time that it might get people who've heard of him to check out the Greens a bit more.
I dunno if it hurt his getting the nomination that he chose Mumia Abu-Jamal to be his VP.

Although I agree with the never be with the dems bit. He's way to radical.Indeed.

Oh, the humor of someone going by Jello Biafra telling us Jello Biafra was nominated for president.Yeah. Vote for me...err... him next time that happens, okay?
