WASHINGTON (AFP) - Insurgents in
Iraq detonated an explosives-rigged vehicle with two children in the back seat after US soldiers let it through a Baghdad checkpoint over the weekend, a senior US military official said Tuesday.

The vehicle was stopped at the checkpoint but was allowed through when soldiers saw the children in the back, said Major General Michael Barbero of the Pentagon's Joint Staff.

"Children in the back seat lowered suspicion. We let it move through. They parked the vehicle, and the adults ran out and detonated it with the children in the back," Barbero said.

I've always wondered how Religious Leaders could call for their followers to martyr themselves without going out to do it themselves. Lead by example I say!

Since when do ANY of us call the attacks terrorists? We all call the ATTACKERS terrorists, though. If you were trying to say we don't, you're mistaken.

This is sickening...but then again, I suspect someone with a Christian idealogy or a Nazi ideology or any other ideology would do the same. It's not because of Islam. It's because of extremism. Islam is merely one method of extremism.

Well, again, having to remind people on this forum for the million billionth time, it's not the fault of the religion, it's the fault of the leaders of the religion and the environment the people live in.

Also, everyone keep in mind they put bombs on kids and had them run at military officers in vietnam as well. This is nothing new.

I don't care what you call them, be it terrorist or insurgent, that's fucking evil. The kind of evil that warrants immediate execution with such visible evidence.

Talk about a pussy. If you want to become a terrorist hero, you have to die in the process. That's the good thing about suicide bombers. When it's all done, you have fewer wackjobs left to contaminate the genepool.

I blame the those who use Islam as a political tool. Worse than those using Christianity as a tool. At least the latter don't run and leave kids to get blown up. If they want someone dead, they don't leave kids to blow up for no reason.

I say Islam is having a Church period. A Church period is when there is widespread use of a major, peaceful religion as a political tool used to oppress people and justify crimes against humanity. Christianity had one of these periods long ago in a mythical place called Medieval Europe, where some guy named Black Death walked around and killed people. Fire was apparently popular apparel for condemned women. Iron Maiden was still a method of execution. And kings and queens ruled magical themeparks named England and France. Some say the Islamofascists want us to recreate this mythical place, only on a global scale and Islamic style.

They've had kids used as suicide bombers in Israel so why did they not take the same security precautions as usual?

As to whether it's f**cked up, well it's war.

Gee wiz, two kids die in a warzone... I think the U.S calls it Collateral Damage when they kill kids but when some one else does it, its totally different.

There is a big difference between the Civil War and here. We were a lot less civilized back then than we are today. To use kids to get pass a checkpoint then killing them is just messed up.
