In short, a group of Fox reporters put together a report on bovine growth hormone, and were about to air it, when the company that made it told Fox "you'd better not" and so they tried to rewrite it, in ways that would falsify it. The reporters wouldn't agree, so they tried to bribe them that's right, a bribe. The reporters not only refused this, they kept the contract the bribe was written on. So then Fox finally seemed to fold and let the reporters work with their lawyers, who made them go through 83 versions. At the end of all of this, they were fired, sued fox, and the appeals court found that it was not a crime to intentionally falsify news...

Whoever's running Monsanto deserves a kick in the nuts.

Whoever's running FOX deserves two kicks in the nuts for going along with this.

And those reporters deserves our respect and admiration for all their hard work and journalistic integrity.

On the face of it, it looks like this is a bad thing. Just remember that this was a local Fox affiliate, WTVT and its general manager, not the Fox News Network, that did the deeds.

From the complaint:
PLAINTIFFS, STEVE WILSON and JANE AKRE, sue the DEFENDANT, NEW WORLD COMMUNICATIONS OF TAMPA, INC., doing business as WTVT Channel 13, Tampa

Notice what word is missing? Starts with an F, ends with an X.

I find that last part really bad

how the court system said that "falsifying news is technically not against the law"

Why would people even care about Bovine Growth Hormone? Modern beef cattle are genetically modified, anyway - so what if they get some extra hormones?

I'm a big fan of genetically modified food.

First of all, this is mainly in response to those who were crying "show us even one example of horrible bias in an actual fox news report!" I answered that. Here's one.

Because genes can't be toxic.
Cow(?) hormones can.

One of the things they were investigating was that monsanto's BGH caused cancer in humans who drank the milk from the injected cows. Or didn't you watch the video? This isn't a bunch of people screaming for unblemished food, this is a question about the safety of a product on the marketplace.

Yes, because America needs more 10 to 12-year old girls with C-cup breasts and periods.

Nice.

Well, the hormones are being looked into as a potential cause of the earlier onset of puberty noticed in the last decade or so...among other side effects, only some of which are even known.

Yeah, them crazy biological processes that have been going since the stone age have no place in America. Because this is America, dammit. And we are americans. This is not France. And we are not French. Except for French-Americans, who can go fuck themselves. Because this is America. And not France.

But you failed. See my post above. This is not the Fox News Network, merely an affiliate with a screwed up GM.
