A passenger in coach dies during the flight and gets upgraded to first class.

The guy lucky enough to have to sit next to the deceased has to pretend he's alright with it.
I dont know wether I would want the aisle or window,in this case:

How mildly disturbing.

Don't those people in first class have enough perks already? On top of all that now they get their own corpse to have fun with!

So, if I bring a corpse with me on the flight, will I get an upgrade?

In the old days, they would have just shoved the corpse out the cargo hatch and been done with it. But on these modern jetliners, you can't open up any of the hatches in flight. Takes all the fun out of flying, if you ask me. :p

Couldn't they just have stored it in one of the overhead lockers? Or would that have counted towards the daughter's baggage allowance?

It must have been a very delicate situation-Between a dead body AND her loved one right there-not to mention 9 hours of flight.

I give the flight attendant's credit if everything went as well as can be expected. I guess we havent heard from the decedent's relative yet on wether she feels her loved one's remains were handled properly or respectfully yet- but you have to imagine there is no more respectful place on a plane, other than 1st class.

Unless there was an open seat in the cockpit.

I dont know if there is any precedent-you figure someone must have died on a flight in recent years-I have to imagine all airlines are examining this case and deciding a protocol on how to properly deal with it.
