We've had beer threads. Now, wine!
I'll start whit sparkling wine - either white, red or rosè.
My favourites:
Asti Spumante (white, Piedmont-Italy)
Prosecco di Valdobbiadene (white, Veneto-Italy)
Sovetskoe Igristoe (white, Krimea-Russia)
Lambrusco Reggiano secco (red, Emilia Romagna-Italy)
I feel that champagne is quite overrated. They also add sugar to boost the alcohol in it!

I prefer dry, but whatever you have, I'm sure I'll like it.
I like champagne and the like. Only get to drink it at weddings, though. :/

Bourgoise elites! Wine is the drink of the lazy and stagnant upper classes!
Drink beer and vodka, the water of the proleteriat!
I'll be damned if I can remember the name...I think it was "Arbour Mist" or something like that...but it tasted decent, unlike any other wine--or indeed, any other alcoholic beverage--I had ever tried.
Of course soon after I drank a small amount I collapsed due to my extreme intolorance for alcohol, but that's just how things are with me.

Why would you put Carbon dioxide in wine?! WHY?! Won't someone please think of the children? No wonder they grow up binge drinking on barcardi breezers and WKD when the media is always in our face about how good Champagne is.

We've gotten quite fond of the blanc de noir made by the Gruet Winery (http://www.gruetwinery.com/) in New Mexico (yes, New Mexico!). It's quite tasty and very affordable. :p
Prosecco is all the rage these days, I hear, but I haven't tried any (yet).

Low alcohol level. Usually why it goes down better. I have 2 big bottles of the stuff on me right now.:)

Aye. I might have a bottle myself somewhere that I'd occasionally drink from if it weren't for my extreme intolorance of alcohol.

If Asti is on your list you need to start drinking at places without cardboard coasters...

It's hard to fuel a revolution without good alcohol.
See: Russia = vodka. France = wine.

Something like Seppelts (http://www.seppelt.com.au/wines/shiraz.html) sparkling Shiraz.
There are also some very good "methode Champagneoise" made in Australia.
