So, what have you done recently that you're proud of?

Ilaer

Me? I've been doing a lot of research into prime numbers and come up with several interesting equations; unfortunately they're still a bit incomplete.
Shame, as the prize for finding a milliard digit long prime is $250,000, or about £125,000.
I've also developed a program to check whether a number n is a prime, with n being all positive integers from 1.
It's extremely inefficient and not particularly fast, but it works, and I can make the coding more efficient later.

So, what have you done recently that you're proud of?
Can be anything; not just boring programming and mathematics...

How much of it do you know? I know absolutely nothing of the Russian alphabet and only three words of their entire language...

So, what have you done recently that you're proud of?
Can be anything

Well, I've been working quite a lot on a fan project dealing with Chrono Trigger and everyone so far has really liked the work I've put in on rewriting the game script and all that, so that makes me somewhat proud.

...but that's it...I've a lot more to not be proud about than to be proud about...

And by that I simply mean that I'm mostly just lounging around without doing anything constructive. I haven't had a job in several months and its been frustrating. Also, I'm overweight.

Meh. I guess it's because I'm so self-conscious and hard on myself that even when I do something good it's never enough for me. College work I find horrible is usually "great" to the professor.

I'm an uber procrastinator; I always end up doing everything, whether it's a 5 page essay to a small opinion piece, at the last minute usually staying up until wee hours of the morning (6, 7, even 8 am) finishing them up and the worst grade I've gotten was a B. ummm...I guess it'd be winning the Hong Kong indoor rowing comp (2000m) yesterday.
It's 2nd time in 3 years I've won. Last year I lost out to some Czech guy who was the Firefighters world indoor rowing champion. By less than 2 seconds. This year I did a bit more training and took 3 seconds off my time. It could have been more, but as I ended up winning this year by 15s I wasn't under much pressure so took it easy.

anyway, it was ok. something to be proud of I guess.

Yeah I used to do that in high school and it would usually work out. However, I'm actually beyond that now. It's come to the point where I barely do my work anymore. Just like today, I have a chemistry prelab and a physics lab due tomorrow and I'm too lazy to even do it. Or my online physics quiz that I just failed because I decided to start it an hour before the deadline and I didn't even read the chapter. I should probably start studying harder or my grades will drop.

I forced back two Mongol hordes with two thousand janissaries in Medieval II. Many good men fell on that blood-soaked Armenian ridge, but victory was ours.

I'm not particularly proud as such, but I was enough of an idiot to do the hardest question for an english essay, thinking I failed disastrously but ended up doing all right.

In recent things?

After spending Saturday digging out of 16 inches of snow, On Sunday,I made a perfect sled run on our property. I dragged a sled full of snow up and down the hill several times til it was perfect.

My three kids and I then proceeded to have the best sleigh riding day ever. The sky was clear, the sun was warm and we rode sleds and made snowmen- and women-ALL DAY. We went back out after eating one of the best pots of chili and cornbread I ever made, and played til the sun went down.

Everything went well. Everyone was happy.

The sun went down,I threw all wet snow clothes in the dryer, lit a fire in the fireplace, popped corn, made hot chocolate and watched a movie.

I dont know if I started in a good mood and everything went well as a result, or if because everything went well,I was in a good mood.

It was a great day. its no small feat to keep three kids ranging from 3 yrs old to a teenager happy.

And-to adress Lunatic Goofballs: In reference to your underwear slingshot- My kid decided one of our snowmen was a pirate, so I tore off my underwear and fashioned an eye-patch for him from them.

Last week I wrote a newspaper story with the aim of raising awareness about epilepsy. This week, I got a letter of thanks from someone whose wife has epilepsy. He said they've seen plenty of articles in national and local media about the condition, and mine was the only one which has portrayed it accurately, without encouraging myths and stereotypes.

I feel pretty pleased about it - stories like that are generally a battlefield where the forces of Get To The Point fight a desperate defence against the invading armies of Be Politically Correct.
Still, it's a poke in the eye for the rest of the profession if no-one else has managed to get it right. Muppets.

I was absently banging a pencil on my desk to La Marseillaise when the repeat offender chav in front of me turned round and told me to stop, using the word "fuck" a lot. I asked the people around me if I as annoying them, and, doubtless anticipating the show, they said no, so I switched to Land of Hope and Glory on a pencil sharpener. More swearing. I was genuinly afraid at this point, he was a big guy and giving me a look of pure venom, but I say "Give me a polite answer like a civilised human being and I will." Enraged, he screams about me annoying him... and of course gets sent to the back for shouting in class and being a repeat-offender chav.

It may not be terribly impressive, or just, but it gave me a great feeling of having stood up and dictated terms to the bigger people.
