Yes, on the 25th of May, your local post office will have Star Wars stamps for sale! Only in the US though. In addition, 400 R2-D2 mailboxes were placed around the country in high-traffic locations. As tempting as it is, however, stealing a mailbox has a harsh penalty.

# March 16: R2-D2 will make news in many major cities across the U.S.
# March 28: Star War stamp designs we be unveiled in Los Angeles.
# May 25: Stamps will go on sale after the first day of issue ceremony.
# Fans will play a role in the production of one of the stamp designs.

I'd love to get one of those mailboxes. They should auction them off for charity afterwards.

It's amazing to me how a series of children's movies from the '80s is still so popular.

Kenny Baker - about 8 miles north of me near Fulwood - he charges £10 for an autograph.

And...?

I saw one of those post office boxes yesterday. I was leaning on it for a while until I realized people were taking pictures of it.

Yes, well, that's people for you.

Me, I'm looking for Trek stamps. Or maybe Stargate stamps. Yeah, that'd be nice. Then as a theme we can place a Stargate in front of train stations or something and you have to walk through it to get into the station.

The Wizard of Oz is a lot older and it's still popular to this day.

I have yet to watch a Star Wars movie. Thank Mod.

Consumerism, how it sickens me.

Consumerism is a reflection of popularity. If it wasn't happening, nobody would be making merchandise based off of it :p

Kind of like how indie bands that achieve mainstream success are considered to have "sold out."

Sssh! You're not allowed to use logic around these people! It makes their brains hurt!

Sel Appa: Scientists, maybe. NASA engineers and other works...and you know, everyone who's interested in Star Trek.

As for the Stargate stuff, that's more my own speculative nonsense, but I'm sure plenty of people would be interested. Hell, I know I'd like to have a Stargate sitting out in my backyard. Maybe add a DHD...just to make it look that much better.

That'll just dare the Mormon and JW missionaries to knock at your door dressed up as Priors.

Hahaha...that would be funny. Luckily where I live we don't get any missionaries. It's a much more isolated neighborhood than what you may be thinking of. I'd show a picture but I have none on this computer.

The exhaust port is ray-shielded. You'll have to use proton torpedoes.
