I was wondering if there were any good sites for writing, posting, and reading original user submitted fiction. I know of fanfiction.com, but that is more for writing fiction about established characters and settings.

...wow, that was not the URL I remember for that site at all...I had to Google that one...anyway, that is for original fiction, not fanfiction, so no worries.

Granted it involves "Steel Butterfly" and the "Orion Empire" but themes and characters are universal.

I would say it's a good website except that they have a shitty policy regarding any fiction that is over "R" in its rating. And from my personal experience, it doesn't take much to push it over "R". I've seen friends get their work taken down because it was considered "NC17" and not "R" despite being rated as such.
