my attempt to end the debate.

so... I got my tax returns... and I put half away, but with the other half, I decided to end one of the many debates once and for all.

Yep...

I bought both a PSP and a Nindtendo DS.

both libraries were smaller than i'd like, but the DS does have the advantage of being able to play all the past Gameboy games.

so... after a couple of days of pla.... err... research...

I conclude that the PSP is the better system.

the DS does have a neat interface (Touch Screen) but it's targeted audiences are the children. the PSP is more for the adults. with games and features more suited for the Teens/adults.

the DS does have internet capabilities like the PSP, but the DS does require a computer interface while the PSP is wireless.

The PSP can double as a MP3 player, as well as a AV tool. (watch movies, not just the UMD, but also from it's 4 gig memory stick.)

but the DS does have one plus that I cannot deny. It will keep my neices and Nephews busy when it's my turn to babysit...

now... who wants to donate items to help me end the PS3, 360, and Wii debat? :p

EDIT: ok, so I forgot the poll. so which hand held system do you preferre. DS, PSP, or other.

Just add the poll with thread tools.

And believe it or not, this will also do a surprising job of keeping kids' attention.

Electronic Quarterback kicked Mattel's ass.

DS. I find it considerably more enjoyable, and I prefer the games that it has over the games for the PSP. I also don't watch movies on handhelds and I have an iPod already so I wouldn't do MP3s on it either.

Hey, my mis-spent youth!

I want a PSP but I think that ultimately that the DS is probably the better one. Fortunately I don't care what tech geeks think of my tech purchases (which allows me to use a Mac and not care) and just get the system with the games I want to play. I bag on the Nintendo being a kiddie toy, but my brother lent me his advance for a really long bus trip I had intended on sleeping during and instead I played the damn thing the whole time. Good on batteries, too.

All that being said, I'm actually leaning to getting a PSP because I have a long boring commute and also occasionally I will be left to my own devices away from home for long periods of time so it might be nice to have some distraction...

DS for me. Because it's the one I've got ;)

Couple of things; The DS does actually have wireless, and can play wirelessly with other DSs. It doesn't support WPA, though, that might be the problem.

That doesn't stop mine from using the internet.

... I read somewhere that you needed the USB Wifi adapter connected to your computer inorder to connect to the Internet.

Yeah, but before you know it, they'll be using that to sneak everywhere. [/game reference]
