Why is it that no one can truly ever leave NSG? Seriously, I have "left" like 15 times already. And here i am...again....

Why is that NSG has such a strong hold on all of us? WHY????:p

People do leave. It's just that the regulars who are around to talk about their leaving/not leaving are generally far more addicted than those who can successfully leave, and those who do successfully leave generally aren't going to be posting here about it to tell how they left.

Because of the intelligent conversation.
I crack myself up...

Seriously, I don't think I could live nowadays without NationStates General. Whenever I get home from school it's always the first thing I'll go on; it's my way of unwinding, of avoiding the temptation to get into flamewars with abusive mods and uneducated dolts that pervade so many other forums.
Above all else, it's companionship. I can't think of a single NSG'er that's completely normal; we all seem to have some little thing that makes us marginal or extreme outcasts from the rest of society.
It's just companionship.

I don't know about that first part. I mean with the exception of a small list of people (Corny for instance) people tend to be polite in discussion, but there are times when discussions will collapse into shouting matches, that I've seen here.

i think perhaps most of the people who leave but tell everyone they are going to do so expect to be missed and the desire to see if that is in fact the case ends up sucking them back in. there's also the desire to see if anyone has made a response to the last post one makes and to see what new thing is being talked about on which one can offer an opinion. i think that's the reason i can't leave.

Aaaannyway...

You can't actively leave NSG, it has to be done as a matter of course, you come here less and less often until your nation dies of inactivety and then you move on to some other net distraction. Everyone who actively leaves, like says, "That's it, I'm out of here" ends up coming back with relatively few exceptions.
