The stupidest argument for gun rights, ever

Muslims are killing us! 15 incidents of Muslims in the US killing someone over the course of 13 years PROVES that we might have 70,000 Muslims murderers on the loose! We needs guns to protect ourselves against the Mohammadans!

Yeah, I'm paraphrasing, but he seriously does that. He takes 15 deaths over the course of 13 years. This accounts for 0.00021%, and then he makes the following stupid statement:

"Cornell University did a study estimating that there are seven million Muslims in the U.S. If even a single percent of that population is motivated to go kill a few infidels for Allah, the country would be facing 70,000 murderers on the loose."

Yep, he goes from 0.00021 percent to 1 percent, based on nothing.

I hate, I mean I really hate, Islamophobia.

Mind you, I support gun rights, but that is the worst argument ever for them.

That's some serious tin-hattery.

I avoid the GOA. Looking at the other books he promotes should tell everyone why.

Yup, GOA is largely a bunch of nuts.

This clown in the article does not speak for sane, responsible gun owners and RKBA advocates.

However, only I should have ammunition.

Yep, ashamed to be pro gun rights.

Ya know, 60 years ago it was "that could mean 100,000 murderous negros on the loose."

60 years ago? I don't think you have to go that far back in some circles. Hell, you've got some people who'll point to the huge percentage of blacks in prison right now and make the same ignorant argument.

What I meant was well, that just how we have Islamophobia now, in the '90s we had Chicanophobia (at least here), in the '80s we had AIDS-induced homophobia, etc. And farther back, and in some places nw, we still have... negrophobia.

No, I know what you meant, and I wasn't being critical, just pointing out that we're not yet removed from that very argument. I will say that in the current political climate, it's probably tougher being an Arab male than a black male in certain parts of the country.

And an Indian male  It kinda sucks when you can't tell the difference between us. The reason why crimes against Hindus quintupled after 9/11. I'm trying to find my source on that, but having read the article a good two-three years back, I doubt I'll find it now.

I remember the stories, along with the ones about Sikhs being attacked because of their turbans. The stupid burns so badly sometimes.

Now that I think about it, does that mean that chicanery means something along the lines of "acting like a Latino person"?

Has anyone else noticed what you get if you take the second section of the link text and remove the last 't' from it? Describes this person quite accurately, I do believe.

I'm against gun rights, but I feel sorry for those who are for them and have to put up with an imbecile like this on their side of the argument.

I'm from Jersey, about 20 minutes from NY. It affected this area a bit more than it did MA.
