I've got bad news; rich people could end up losing their multi-million dollar homes.
We should send them blankets and canned corn. *nod*
Fleeing fires has become a part of life for many residents.
Susan Snell, who has lived in Anaheim Hills for 23 years, followed a well-worn routine Sunday: She put her cat in a carrier, packed tax and insurance papers and photographs and found a good vantage point.
Then MOVE, asshole!

This is why the smart rich people live in the North East. *nods*

Unfortunately, it's not only rich people with the problem. There are a lot of poor and middle income people in the area (you have no idea how badly the poor have it in the OC) and they can't move. Their jobs and homes are there, if they own their homes, they probably can't sell them for even enough to cover the mortgage. If they're renters, they're really screwed. I used to live in Riverside (about 40-50 miles from the OC); I was lower middle income and knew that if a fire got out of control, I could lose everything. I was lucky enough to be able to get out of there: not everyone is.:(

:)... But she did move. She went and found a vantage point to watch the show. Still her insurance premium must be through the roof..
2000 acres. I can't even begin to comprehend how big that is. It's like how everything over a couple of miles away is simply just 'a long way away' when walking on foot. 50 miles, a thousand miles - all the same to me.
