Myrth is the founder of these forums. Back in the dark days, when the internet was new, he fought for 100 days in the cyberspace wilderness. Wild beasts, including the great Spam Monster, attacked him, but he stood tall and beat them back, at times with nothing more than his own bare hands.
Legend has it that he died at the grand old age of 103. His Church is now presided over by the Great High Priests of Myrthdom, Father Fris and Glorious Hack, as we await his second coming.

Myrth was a very aggressive and open mod, who was regularly involved in the forums (far more so than existing mods, far outpacing even our most audible moderator on the General forums today). Aggressive with the Sword of DEAT, a dark cabaal of heavy drinking, chain-smoking spammish posters sought to overthrow him, but never did succeed. Since said days, Myrth has retired from Modling, and settled for the more relaxed existence of big-game hunter, his primary weapons are his hands, and occasionally a loose toenail.
Also known for being a little more than left-of-center in his politics, his presence in a thread made those who were more to the right always a bit nervous, almost universally unjustifiably.

Then, one too many peanut butter and banana sandwiches(figuratively speaking) later, he became a fat balding has been with an almost obscene fortune to his name. Then he died the NS equivalent of death on the toilet due to colon blockage caused by drug misuse.
Many claim he never died, but was an undercover operative for the FBI and entered the federal witness protection program. He occasionally is spotted in forum polls, but nobody knows if it is the real Myrth, or one of his many impersonators.

I am content to leave the question of whether Myrth's retirement was entirely voluntary to the depths of history, as I will with the reasons with such retirement. I'll suffice it to say that, no matter what one's opinion on his moderation activities, Myrth certainly made any conversation that he participated in substantially more interesting. And entertaining.
(Oh, and he helped come up with the idea for MaxChats, which was just awesome.)
