Are you, have been, or will be a social outcast? The nerd, the loner, the emo person everyone is afriad to talk to? Have no friends? Well then join the Social Outcast Society! It;s a place where anyone can fit in, and possibly understand you!

I'm a bit of a loner, despite the fact that I seem to make friends easily.

That ability scares me.

I can be a tad anti-social, mostly because “normal” people are incredibly boring and irritating...

I have however noticed that these tend to be cave folk without the internets so I can escape unless some emo girl wants me to give sympathy/cheer like I’m some sort of niceness hore

If we belonged to a group we wouldn't be social outcasts. It's like procrastinators starting a club.

i don't tend to make real friends easily, i have lots of superficial friends though. all my real friends are people who actively made friends with me while i just passively resisted then went along with it. i was a complete loner til i was about 13 or 14 when i moved schools and discovered alcohol, i got over my teenage angst pretty quickly. but i still don't make friends easily, unless i'm drunk and in a good mood, then i'm everyone's friend and lover, til i wake up and think, "who the fuck were those people, and who the fuck is this. bugger!". If i'm drunk and in a bad mood, which is most of the time, then i'm the ultimate self-pitying misanthrope. i guess i didn't actually get over the teenage angst then, just delayed it a bit :p

I am, and always will be asocial. I am not an outcast, because I never wanted to be part of society to begin with, therefore they have no ability or right to cast me out.

So Yes I'll Join.

I'm so much of an outcast, that I going to join just so that I'm an outcast among you outcasts among outcasts.

But honestly, I enjoy being shunned by society. It lets me know I'm on the right track.

Now there's a club I'd join.

As for being an outcast, are you kidding? I'm even an outcast around here!

Isn't a 'social outcast society' a bit like a 'smart idiot' or a 'happy tragedy'? In other words, an oxymoron?

Since when were emos and nerds, two massive social groups with reams of media, art, advertising and fashion dedicated to their sub-cultures, social outcasts?

Do you actually know any nerds? The only reason nerds are suddenly "popular" is because their subculture was co-opted wholesale by the mass market as a result of their newfound prosperity. Video games, movies based on comic books, internet sociality, gadget-mania, all these were originally the domains of the weird smart kids who couldn't talk to girls but who have since grown up, made scads of money, and are the bosses of all the dumb football players who use to give them swirlies after class. In short, nerd-dom is popular because nerds have money now.

I can't say I know any emos, so I don't have much perspective on that. I knew a few goths, but they aren't quite the same thing (besides, they were happy goths, strange as that sounds).

Well, if by nerd you mean someone who loves comics/manga/anime, RP’ing, gadgets and video games, has in-depth knowledge of computing and how the internet flows through the tubes, regularly plays wargames and has a strange fascination for all things Japanese, then yeah, I know plenty of nerds.

Me, for one.

And emo kids, or ‘perky-goths’ as I like to call them, are just the next line of supposedly ‘alternative’ teens. When I were a lad, all of 6-7 years ago, it was all about the nu-metal kids. Before that skater kids. Yadda yadda yadda....

Everything changes. Everything stays the same.

I have been,( and propably still I am) anti-social and nerd. Also my low ego made me easy to be bullied in elementry school until about 5th grade.

If I were truly a social outcast, why would I join your club? Furthermore, I resent being labelled "emo". :P

Ah geez man, I did it all way back in high school to cast myself out...I was in marching band, I listened to jazz, I played pencil and paper role playing games and actually discussed them in public, I had an unusually large vocabulary but since I got it from reading books over my head when I was young I didn't actually use all the words properly all the time so I sounded odd to norms and nerds, I had a highly sarcastic sense of humor with a crappy version of a Groucho Marx delivery...list goes on. I thought I was loathed, but it turns out I was actually pretty well liked by a great deal of people. There was a small set that didn't like me but I didn't realize no one liked them either. I wish I knew then...

I am pretty anti-social, which worked out alright back home, as I had a reputation that preceded me and so people were always excited to meet me.

But here at Uni, I'm a total nobody.
