I think I'm cursed...
Well I'm slightly upset today because I failed my driving theory test by one point. It's kinda of like a kick to the gut as I spent the last 2 weeks revising for it for a couple of hours every night. Anyway the reason I think I'm cursed is becaue of the number 1. Reasons:
Secondary Education:
On man tests I have failed by ONE mark. Some friends even called it the One Mark Syndrome.
GCSE:I missed an A grade in maths by ONE mark.
AS - Level: I missed a C in English Lit by ONE mark.
Theory Test: Failed by ONE mark
Other Instances:
Missing the last ticket for the London Eye by ONE person in front of me.
Missing a train to see someone by ONE minute.
Am I going insane NSG or am I actualy cursed? Poll Coming.
The URNG(Universe's Random Number Generator) hates you.

Your mother was cursed by a mad wandering old hag. The hag said that the child your mother carried would always be off by one point. She then cackled and wandered off.

If the number one turns up that often, I advise you never have sex.
Most contraception is 99% effective, after all...

You probably did eight to ten GCSEs, let's call it ten to keep the numbers nice. There are eight GCSE pass grades and, if GCSEs are marked out of a total of 300 UMS marks (as AS levels are) then this means you have a 8/300 (2/75) chance of being one mark of any particular grade in each GCSE you sit. If GCSEs are marked out of 400 (I can't remember which it is) then this is still an 8/400 (1/50) chance. If 2/75, then you have almost a twenty-five percent chance of missing at least one grade by one mark. If 1/50 then the probability is less, at about twenty percent, but still not remarkable.[/QUOTE]
AS - Level: I missed a C in English Lit by ONE mark.
How many AS levels did you take? If you're taking four then you had a 10% chance of doing this on at least one of them.
Theory Test: Failed by ONE mark
Missing a train to see someone by ONE minute.
But I'm sure there are plenty of times when you've caught the train with time to spare, or missed it by more than one minute.;)
Am I going insane NSG or am I actualy cursed? Poll Coming.
Well, most people on NS are either insane or heading that way so I won't comment on that. :p You're subconsciously dismissing the many occasions when you haven't failed or missed stuff by one point/person and only remembering the events which support your 'one' theory. Everyone does it to a greater or lesser extent, it's nothing to be worried about.

I always knew that probability stuff would come back and get me. Yes I did 10 GCSEs and 4 AS Levels. Its just my character. I always seem to stay stuck on my failures and forget about any acheivements I make.

You're almost getting As and you think you're cursed because of ONE MARK? Now, if you had Ds and Fs, that might be a curse, though I think any witch worth their salt would hex more than test scores.
