How much can you bench press?

Last time I did it, I maxed out at 225 lbs. Im such a weakling :(

I don't think I could do it all now. Maybe, 150 now. I need to lift more.

Well I believe how much you way should play in as a factor as well. 225 lbs. is quite a bit for me, seeing as though I only way 130 lbs.

I have never tried to max in quite a while, but I usually do 3 sets of 10 at 80 lbs.

Depends, what's the bench made from? I've never had much luck with the steel ones, though I managed to collaspe three stiff carboard ones by jumping on them (does that count as a press or a stomp?)
What? Someone had to say it...

Then you're pretty strong. I doubt I can do more than my own weight. I'm the weakling here.

The only benches I've ever pressed were park benches. And I've usually pressed those with my ass.

I worked my way up to a 100lb when I was 16 and then I stopped. Now I’m 22 and aside other exercise regimes, bench pressing seems to be my weakness. I see short skinny guys able to lift more than their weight!!! Even my younger brother can do 220lb!!!(he probably got it from my mother's side :D ), I'm only good with endurance (like running up to 10 miles without tiring-first time I've started running, less than 15 minuets I was wheezing like I was a heavy smoker which I’m not.) What really motivated me to work on my endurance was when girls my age started outrunning me in high school gym (maybe because I only picked heavy weights) and as much embarrassing that was, it was a message for me to change my health.

Most I've done has been 190kg (430lb).
Right now, though, I'm struggling at 160kg (350lb).
Since moving to HK, I don't have a training partner I can trust to spot me properly, so my strength has dropped heaps.:(

I can bench press my own weight. It's stayed around there most my life. Not weak, but not fantastic.

Oh, Just trying to convert it into pounds in my head...
135lbs?

Hehe, Europeans.

:P

Anyway, I'll probably max out around 143 lbs or 65 kg, 110 kg if it's a smithmachine and I don't have to worry about balance. I guess I could improve alot by just perfecting the technique hehehe...

I don't actually do bench presses.....I do weight training when I exercise, but no bench presses, so I have no clue. Probably not much though.

I've never done a single lift - all my lifts are in sets.

The most I can lift in a set of 5 is 105kg/230lbs.

I can bench press all of existence+1000000lbs.

Also, I have an enormous penis and really fast sports car, which I keep in my really enormous SUV.

Here's a handy little calculator for you:
Reps %1RM
1 1.00
2 0.97
3 0.94
4 0.92
5 0.88
6 0.86
7 0.83
8 0.81
9 0.78
10 0.75
11 0.72
12 0.70

Divide the weight you do by the number next to the # reps.
In your case 105kg/0.88 = 119kg max bench (give or take a couple)

most ever was 455 lbs. Now I probably could max out at about 355. I don't usually max out for 1 rep but using a conversion chart it would look like this.

the best way is to do a less heavy weight and then use a calculator to give a good estimate of what your own rep max would be. Here's a good way to figure it out.

http://www.musclenet.com/1repmaxcalculator.htm

Now squatting is where my real strength lies. I have always been able to put it up there. When I was 14 and a freshman in high school I was already doing 405lbs. for reps of 6.

Is that not just weightlifting? It's a specific type of weightlifting. There are other types, such as squats, military presses, and leg presses.

No clue; bench press isn't my thing. I probably wouldn't manage very much though. I do, however, have a friend who can bench press me - amusing for the image, but not very impressive weight-wise. :p

I can't benchpress, as the bar weighs too much for me to lift it. But when I use the machine thing were you pull a bar down and it's connected to weights, I can lift about 24 pounds. At that point, however, when I stop pulling the bar down, it lifts me slightly off the ground.
