They're reading my mind!

Ok, so not really. Still it has some very cool implications. One step closer to brain mapping and mind uploads.

They better hurry up, I'm getting older with each passing minute.
Did you know that "Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience" is one word in German?

That's all kinds of creepy...
Excellent. A major improvement like this will provide scientists with a powerful tool for neuroimaging and neural interfaces, with of course the long-term potential being full brain simulation, full-function neuroprosthetics and mind uploading.
Also, I read that scientists have not only mapped all of the connections of a single neuron for the first time but have created a new map of the brain with unprecedented detail and function...the natural step out from this is to trace out the function of the entire brain, and when combined with technologies like this it will be far easier to so and achieve greater detail in a shorter time. There have been a number of breakthroughs in neuroscience and neuroengineering in the past few months...it's an exciting time.
And don't forget the Blue Brain...by 2008, it will be up to 1,000,000 neurons and higher function regions are going to be turned on. Already the simulation is displaying unpredicted patterns that correspond with mental activity in biological brains...one can only wonder what will happen as the simulation is refined and regions like the human neocortex are simulated.

If it starts singing "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do ..." I for one will freak out.

"I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that."
And do you know what's funny? The project is sponsored and the hardware provided by IBM.

 I should have known, everything they do is named "Blue Something or Other"

Who asked you?
Old
Yeah, there was an article in ScienceDaily a few weeks ago. However, the stuff I posted has come out in the past week or two.
Old
No I'm not!
