So... vacation!

In the very short time that I have been thinking about this topic, I have actually come to a list of what I'd like to do this summer.

In my family we have big trips, and little trips. Big trips being a week or longer, like when we went to Mystic and Boston. The little trips are things like going to the beach for the weekend. The little trips aren't hard to decide on because they are tradition.

But the big trips are harder to plan since they cost more and don't happen very often.

.. anyway..

My ideas for the big trip this year:

Go on a cruise.
A week in Seattle.
Rent a house for a week in New England.
Rent a condo for a week at the shore.

Which do you think I should choose?

Personally, I'd go with the beach condo. Hot, sunny weather and the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico would be amazing.

unless you are cruising the mediterranean, cruises are for the winter months.

a cottage on the seashore or a cabin on a lake are the best for summer time. lots of outdoor activities and pretty girls in swimsuits. what more could you want?

although seattle is great and if you go at the right time you will get the one week a year that it doesnt rain....

I'm only going to vote after some more information.

1) Cruise? What kind of cruise are we talking about, as in, where? Caribbean? Somewhere else? Isn't that *really* expensive?
2) You voted Seattle - why do you want to go there? What do you think you'd do there for a week with your family?
3) Where in New England? I mean, you rent a house and do... what? Horseback riding? Antique shopping? Relaxing in the yard?
4) Which shore are we talking about? Connecticut or Florida?

Why go anywhere? Staying home and relaxing sounds just fine... and is certainly cheaper.

1. As for location, I don't know. Please note that I have just woke and wish to do nothing but drink a cup of espresso the size of a swiming pool. Expensive? That's why it's a big trip! And if this really does happen, it wont be with my parents, since they don't care much for cruises. Huzzah for Gram who likes to spoil me!

2. Coffee.

3. CT, MA, ME.. And I guess we'd just explore where ever we are.

4. Oh you are such a n00b. New Jersey, darling.*

*This may also include Maryland, and Deleware.

I suppose you could go to D.C. I'm sure the odor of political shenanigans hasn't permeated the air too severely. ;)

I would not mind that at all.
a luxury cabin in the mountains, next to a lake.
With a beer? *dreams*
Save yourself the money and just get drunk, same feeling except with a nasty after effect.
I was thinking this also.
Climb a mountain.
Which mountian?
come see me!

How do you know I'm not planning on visiting you? ;)

The beach is so relaxing! Last year we went to the condo my uncle was renting, we stayted for two days. It was 12 stories up and right on the beach, had the best views and you could hear the ocean waves.
Go to the Lake District in England.
It looks beautiful.
Go Warm.
Well of course!

If you did this one you could kick it with me for a minute.

Or Erastide, I guess, who'd probably be more interesting.

But I probably have better weed...and where I live looks like a set for a zombie movie, so I got that going on...

EDIT: Holy hell, for the heck of it I decided to look Erastide up in the info thread and we live on the same island!! I really can get modded in person...man, I better straighten up...

Well there's a big possibility that we might be going to San Francisco. Mother loves it there, says she wouldn't mind going back there this summer.

Let's not tell her about the weed though.. ;)

Have fun feeling weird when a girl walks past you and you ask yourself "Could that be...?" Maybe you should start wearing that barcode eye around, she might see you! .. unless you've been a bad boy, because then she'll just deat you by throwing you off the Golden Gate bridge..

Go over to Amsterdam, get smashed on weed and then spit-roast a prostitute with a total stranger.

Great times.

I suck at recognizing people so there isn't a chance in hell I'm going to recognize her (beside it being this side of damn creepy to even try) and I don't have a real photo up so at best she might recognize my hat with the zen slug on it or see my beloved Veronica ('67 VW red and white Bus) and likely keep that recognition to herself. I'm actually more intrigued by the idea that we constantly pass each other in ignorance.

you would go on a cruise by yourself or with your grandmother?

if its by yourself (you need to take a friend, an inside room is as good as one with a balconey for you) DO IT! (oh i dont think you can go without an adult)

if its with your grandmother (she'll want a room with a balconey), well, only do it if she can entertain herself without the need to drag you along to bingo with her every afternoon.

there will be lots of teen girls looking for a nice shipboard romance (meaning anything from holding hands to midnight sex on the lido deck) you get to visit some cool islands (pick a carribean cruise that makes as many stops as possible) they have very fun shore trips that are designed for young people. everyone is friendly. its a great way to meet people and figure out what islands you might really want to visit later on.
