Everybody thought Switzerland was all peaceful and neutral, but they've recently revealed their plans for world conquest. In an unexpected move the Swiss, using their high-tech pocketknives as well as conventional weapons, have invaded Lichtenstein. The Swiss, and the puppet government they've installed in Lichtenstein are covering the incident up by claiming it was an accident. Sure. I'll bet they've got their eye on France next.

And any real reason why they should have instead broke their neutrality the other way and helped the Allies? And yes they were neutral, the Germans asked them to wash their money and help run the finances they did so. On the other hand did they allow the Germans to use their country to transport goods, troops or other.

Also the despite small french and italian minorities, Switzerland's majority speaks German and are culturally very close to the Austrian/German culture and lifestyle. So you have a Nazi officer who speaks your native tongue, and comes from a Bavarian village just a few miles from your village on the border and kindly asks you a favor and will know what you like and your weakspots. And then you have a burly British gentlemen or American who cannot speak a word of German and also demands a favor. Who do you think the Swiss will give preferential treatment in their offer of services?

You need more than a 170 troopers to invade a sovereign country, but then again, Liechtenstein has no army :eek: . I guess Liechtenstein relies on home front militias as a defense (low cost & efficient). For people that get confused with Switzerland’s involvement in WW II, aside Swiss banks collaborating with the Nazi regime, Switzerland was not active in that war. In fact, Switzerland had war strategies in case Germany did decided to attack.

After 1815, they completely stopped involving themselves in war. The only thing they had in common with the Germans are Messerschmitt Bf 109s.

I mean, Lichtenstein is one of only two doubly landlocked countries. That is, it is landlocked and surrounded by other landlocked countries (Austria and Switzerland). Can some one name th other for a giant cookie?

Damn, the "town" that I live in is about 50 square kilometers with a population of 107,000.

It's not doubly landlocked. I don't know the answer either, but Andorra doesn't fit the description.

Doubly landlocked is landlocked between other landlocked ones. Spain/France obviously have coastline.

The Czech Republic touches Germany, which has access to the sea.

The only other is Uzbekistan. Although the Caspian Sea throws a wrench in it.
