Is there a way where I can save all my settings of my brower like favourites and web history to my computer or a flash drive? Because if I need to get a new hdd I don't want to lose my settings and such.

There's probably some file with all that stuff in it, you should be able to just swap that over to the new hdd via the flash drive. But I'm not sure where that file would be or what it would be called.

There is a way to export bookmarks. Not sure about history. Gimme a sec.

Assuming you’re running XP, on your compy, go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\XXX\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

where ‘XXX’ is you user name for Windows.

There will be a folder named with a string of letters and numbers followed by your user name in Firefox.

Copy that folder. That’s got most of your profile settings, extension data, etc. It’s not perfect however, you’ll need to install/customise a few things again.

Alternatively, I believe there’s an extension speciffically for this sort of event. Possibly one of Mr. Tech’s.

In the "Bookmarks" menu, click "Organise Bookmarks".

In the "Bookmarks manager" window that opens, click "File" then "Export".

Not sure about History.

An alternative way is to stop using the normal firefox and switch to firefox portable - which runs from an USB stick and can be taken with you wherever you go. Always have your pages handy :)

Downside is of course that losing the usb stick is not really good for your privacy.

Turns "Caret Browsing" on and off. Places a cursor on text allowing you to select it with the keyboard. Off by default.

"Pressing F7 turns Caret Browsing on or off. This feature places a movable cursor in web pages, allowing you to select text with the keyboard."

I pressed it to find out.

Caret Browsing apparently. "Pressing F7 turns Caret Browsing on or off. This feature palces a movable cursor in web pages allowing you to select text with the keyboard. Do you want to turn Caret Browsing on?"

F1 - shows help
F5 - refresh
F6 - select address bar text
F7 - Caret browsing
F10 - select menu
F11 - full screen mode

The rest do nothing.

Don't worry, I have no intention of getting a life.

As long as you don't ground them from chocolate we won't have to call CPS.

Kids need chocolate.

that's pretty much up to them, I mean I only ground them from things they are mischievous with.

I figure, if you screw up driving, then they take your license away. So, if you screw up and write on your face with markers, then I take your markers away.

Your face is the best place to write messages. Because you'll be going around and people will ask "Why do you have X written on your head", thus reminding you of X.

I didn't know what a haiku was until a few months ago, in fact I probably found out on NS. Your kids are geniuses.

And what's a sharpie?

I taught it to her when we were learning about syllables, it made it fun.

And what's a sharpie?
