As a spin-off from my other (really unsuccessful thread), what do you consider to be the most important attribute(s) a person can possess?

For me, it's conviction and integrity.

Do what you say you will and act decisively in all you do.

Poll may be coming...

As in restraint?

Or fairness?

As in restraint?

Or fairness?

As in being heated in a furnace and allowed to slowly cool. :)

Honesty is the most important

Would that not be part of integrity?

From the list, social skills, but I dont regard it as a virtue.

There are plenty of charismatic people who are totaly assholes.

Other than that, pride. Someone without pride doesnt go anywhere.

Sense of humour from the list, but I'd not really say that was a "virtue" as such. Probably more likely a sin ;)

Personally, I'd say honesty and patience.

I wish I could change the title--Read "virtue" as "attribute," sorry!

Consistency, because if you don't act consistently no one can trust you.

Conviction - pick your course and stick with it. If you don't, you weren't that interested.

Open Mindedness, because you can always learn something.

Selfishness, because you're the only person you know you can help.

Yes, those are good virtues. I'm sure I could think of more. It was hard enough to find the English counterparts.

And I thought of another one:

patience :D
*very much agrees* :)

*saving PM and myself some time typing it again* :p

I'd say love is most important. But you can't really pick only one, because the combination of them is what makes you a virtuous person.

Yeah, those and patience. Are understanding and kindness virtues? If so, they'd be up there with integrity and patience. Oh and courage! And don't be prideful.

Respect is far and away the most important.
