I wasn't going to do a poll today after going poll-crazy yesterday, but I'm bored.

It's clearly either the first or Led Zep III IMO. I'm going with III.

It's gotta be One or Three, and I'm torn.

...it doesn't really count, but I love the BBC Sessions, especially disc 2.

I don't find Led Zeppelin very good, to be honest.

You rescued my thread from the jaws of destruction just to say you don't know Zeppelin? Why, why would you do such a thing?

Big fan of I and II, myself.

Actually
1) It didn't deserve to be dead
2) It doesn't mean i dont want to learn of the Zeppelin.

Just go through their catalogue chronologically.

I picked the last option, but really they don't suck, they're average.
I'm not familiar enough with them to say which is the best, but if I heard all their albums I have a feeling I'd like IV the best.

What kind of music do you like? "Both kinds, country and western!"

In Through The Out Door, definitely. The others have their moments, but with the exception of I'm Gonna Crawl, every track on ITTOD is perfect, with Fool In The Rain being by far the best.

Besides, you'll never ever find a better or more ballsy use of a euphemism for buttsex anywhere, with the exception of Spinal Tap.

I liked IV the most but it was hard to decide between it and houses of the holy

(btw I own ALL of them on original vynil)

http://geek.upwardthrust.us/collection/pic4.jpg (Just IV in this pic ... all I had that I could get at, at work) (and its a bit slow so give me a break)

III just slightly over Houses of the Holy.

No way. I find that their worst album (not including Coda).

Eh...doubtful..if you're anything like me, you'll find IV overplayed and stale. I don't think there's a song on it that someone hasn't heard at one stage.

Their debut on the other hand is straight out raw blues rock and mostly ignored today.

'Someone' ranked LZ III the 3rd best album of all time...

Overplayed, possibly. Stale, no. I could happily listen to it over and over and over again and still enjoy it nearly as much as the first time I heard it.

LZ I would probably have been awesome to hear when it first came out, but because of the massive influence that it and similar albums had on later music, I find it difficult to really enjoy it as much as it could be.

So I'll go with III. Just for Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, if nothing else.

On vinyl, I hope. The CD reissues and remasters sound terrible. This is true for all but the most carefully-remastered discs, and those are rare finds indeed.

I'm actually beginning to wonder if it might be Physical Graffiti. As double albums from that era go, it whips, say, Exile on Main Street. And it has Kashmir. Now there's a song the whole family can enjoy.

That's crap. My Led Zeppelin CDs are decent. And I have compared them with the vinyl I own.

The Zep remasters are really pretty good.
Beatles CDs, and Talking Heads 'til recently, now they're poor.

And don't go anywhere near Stooges CDs. (actually, i'll be fair. Those on the Elektra label aren't that bad. Don't touch anything on Columbia, however)

Ha, and in fact, looking at my Zep CDs, Jimmy Page was in charge of the remastering. One would be inclined to trust him, particularly since he produced the original albums anyway.
