excellent, i voted on the assumption that the name referred to hair colour. and i got a bonus in that it was a girl in small leopard-skin clothes. w00t!

Gilligan, he was the most earnest. It wasn't as often that his greed torpedoed their hopes of getting off the island (which to me seemed to stymie them far more often than Gilligan's blunders). He didn't talk down to anybody either (while it could be that he had no one to talk down to, being at the bottom, still...) Mary Ann and Ginger both would use empty flirtation to get thier way, the Howells would use sense of privilage and promise of future fortune, and the Professor just thought everyone but him was an idiot (while by comparison that might have been true...). Really, if Gilligan didn't have all these social forces on him I think he would have just relaxed and enjoyed the island lifestyle. There always seemed to be enough people just popping in that you'd think someone would put that island on a chart...

And the show you're talking about wasn't really a remake of Gilligan's Island. It was a stupid "reality" show, where people were competing to be cast as members of a remake, but I don't think they ever went past the casting part.
