I got 81%. The hardest part is getting those damn planes to Greenland and South Pacific and the other major continent.

I spent about 15 turns reading things like "The infected plane has left Europe and has now arrived in Europe." Fucking responsible pilots and their selfless morality and the maintenance of quarantines.
Otherwise, I managed to wipe out 92% of the world, I would have wiped humanity out forever, but the South Americans found a cure for me before I was fully established.

perhaps you didnt assign points to different virus characteristics?

maybe you need to first click on the nation (in red) before performign an action

perhaps the actions just arent working - which happens a lot too. 4 or 5 clicks on teh same thing in a row can do absulotely nothing many times.

I think that most actions will fail for anyone, so you've got to upgrade your Infectiousness and click on the Infect Population button until you've got most of the people in the first country under your thumb.
Then you should have enough action points to begin spreading to your neighbors and dominating the world.

I have had as many as 10 actions fail in a row, maybe even more. That is with level 3 infectivity.

Turn one, drop your Lethality to 0 (to keep people from dying before they can spread the infection) and raise your Infectivity to 3 (to maximize transmission). Then spend all your points on infecting your first nation until everyone is infected.

Once a nation is fully infected, they stop working on a cure, so you can ignore them from now on. Move on to another nation and get them started, then fully infected. Fully infected nations with low deaths are the easiest to infect at the airports, so try to use them to infect your isolated landmasses. It's possible to get multiple flights in a given turn, but each nation can only send one flight per turn.

Once everyone in the world is infected, hop back down to Modify and increase the Lethality until everyone dies. Points accumulate if you don't spend them, so you can raise the Lethality to 5 or 6 by just waiting them out.

I've managed to win with between 550 and 610 points every time. I have no idea how the high point scorer made it to 1400+ - he must have won every roll of the virtual dice.

Your lethality should be 0 until everyone in the world is infected, afterwhich crank that bitch up and watch out for Europe (they snuck up and found a cure so I only killed 93% the second time)

I spent at least 30 days trying to get to the south pacific. >:/

I wonder who those last few people were...somewhere in Australia some managed to survive for a rather long time. Not because I couldn't get there, but because they just wouldn't die.

This game is really depressing though, isn't it? :(

83 days and 100% dead.

Getting to Greenland took forever. So did pwning that last 2 percent, even though I cranked lethality up to 6.

Score wuz 500 even

Thing took forever as it sucked up CPU for some reason:( As such I never got to name the virus, I just closed teh tab.:(

It's the music. It conjures up images of the first cases dying slowly in hospital, surrounded by their loved ones...then the final cases crawling in the body-littered streets trying to find a place to die.

Damn, I need to switch on the light in my room. It's gotten dark, which apparently is no good for my attitude. :p

Bah, nowhere near as fun as the original. Greenland had created a cure before the virus had even killed anyone. And then when it started killing lots of people they could hardly care less and refused to share their cure. Selfish bastards. And whatever happened to mutations, because of the rate at which flu mutates you have be vaccinated every year to be protected from it.

You know what? No, no it didn't. I have emotions: I cannot help what I feel. I must merely cope with the results and prevent it from affecting me, which I've done quite well, mind you.

Aye, that it does. Luckily, an hour away from it and I'm as good as knew. I don't intend to play it again, either: I don't like killing all of humanity.

Beat it with a score of about 500. Not too hard.

Once I figured out how it's played I got 90% on my first try.

Since then I keep losing within five minutes. I raised my infectivity to 5 and spent 23 points on invading Europe. Didn't cause so much as a sniffle and they deployed a cure.

It's pretty much identical to the influenza epidemic of 1918, but trade airplanes with ships. That must have been scary, a deadly epidemic and a world war at the same time .

I don't understand this game. I try to amp up the virus' lethality and infectiousness and infect people with it, and no matter what, hardly anybody catches it. And I can't attack any country but the one they randomly assign me, so what the hell can I do to the rest of the world?

The game was poorly programmed imo since it's almost completely random. To go from country to country you have to hit the ! button if it's a connected landmass, or try to spread the infection by plane to remote islands.

Has great potential.

I called my virus Christianity :p I kid, i kid.

I destroyed 100% of mankind, but my score was only like 380, and it took my a long time to infect Greenland. Eventually I figured out to turn down the Lethality to 0, but by then most of the people were already dead, except for a few people in Asia and one or two in Russia and Africa. It took a long time to even get an airplane infected, and even longer for it to go to Greenland. Well, I got it eventually, I guess.
