The point of this poll is to see what ideology people would vote for in the election, regardless of whatever demagogue wins the party primary. Let's just assume that any person running is fairly honest and has integrity.

So, what will it be?

Seeing has Bush has incenerated any chances of a Republican victory, and there is this odd thing in the American Public about never voting for third parties, I'd say the Democrats are in the door this time 2009.

Prolly, but who will you vote for?

I'll vote for the most centrist candidate possible.

But seriously...can we at least wait for 2008 to get here before we start thinking about the presidential race?

IF the Libertarian Party can get their act together and field a decent candidate they'll likely get my vote.

The so-called "Constitution" Party is rather intriguing, since they seem to alter the meaning of the Constitution to conform to their twisted (and quite literally wretched) ideals.

As for myself, I'm abstaining.

IMO, they'd be okay, if they would just ditch the theocratic shit.

Not being American I can't vote however:

I wouldn't say the Republican victory has been incinerated. If their current strategy is to escalate Iran then a: Iran backs down and the R's say their strategy in Iraq has worked as nations are beginning to comply or b: Iran doesn't back down and the R's say 'see, we're in real danger'

Meanwhile, the D's tear themselves apart over voting for a female or a black president.

Then comes the curveball, China wipes the floor in terms of gold medals in the Olympics, held just 2 months before the US elections.

America goes paranoid and turns back to the R's.

I'd say it was lining up nicely.

And the protectionist shit, and the anti-immigrant shit, and the "abolish social programs" shit.

The Constitution Party is like every one of my positions on domestic policy completely reversed.

I also oppose their protectionist shit. I have mixed feelings on social programs. I used to oppose them 100%, now I reluctantly support them, provided that they only help those genuinely in need, and as long as they (the programs) are not taken advantage of.

My vote goes to either the Greens or the Libertarians.

Not exactly ideological, except that I refuse to vote for Republicans OR Democrats any more...so whichever of the "Big" third parties fields the better candidate (IE: Is he a bumbling fool, or is he actually somewhat capable?) gets my vote.
