Bizarre food preferences

So normally when I have deli meat sandwiches, I put barbecue flavored Baked Lays inside, for a little bit of crunch and extra flavor. This is considered odd by my boyfriend.
I also put malt vinegar on my fries, which has been noted by certain others on this forum as both disgusting and weird.
Does anyone else do these things? What type of weird food preferences do you have?

... ketchup to me isn't a condiment, but a spice.
same with shoyu.
depending how I feel, most sandwiches I eat I deconstruct and eat layer by layer... especially burgers.

Whenever eating any set of Indian dishes (as this is the most common case when I'm presented with this situation) I try as hard as possible to keep each dish separate from the other on the plate. Going so far as to wipe away run-off if it looks like it will make contact with another type of curry.
I also eat ketchup with a lot of things that would probably gross you out were I to list them.

let me put it this way: mundaneness is for twits. the aggressiveness of gratuitous pseudo-conventionality is the most harmful and destructive force in all of existence. and i like food. too much perhapse i like food. but i like food.
now, is there any part of my possition on this i haven't made sufficiently clear?
bizarre? if it's you're preference, and YOU eat it, what's to be bizarre?
if it don't kill you. or if it does, well, it's still YOU.
likewise me.
i'm sure every prefference i have, not just food, someone somewhere considers bizarre. is that MY problem? should it be? WHY?
as long as it isn't hurting the envornment or causing someone somewhere to suffer needlessly.
isn't bizarre IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, and doesn't every beholder perceive what is bizarre TO THEM differently then any other beholder?
so how could i possibly begin to guess, what is bizarre to someone, anyone other then myself, unless i knew them personaly and what THEIR customs were?

you guys are thinking of wine vinegar
So-called "white vinegar" (actually transparent in appearance) can be made by oxidizing a distilled alcohol. Alternatively, it may be nothing more than a solution of acetic acid in water. Most commercial white vinegars are 5% acetic acid solutions, although some states such as Virginia have laws prohibiting the sale of any product not made from acetous fermentation of alcohol as vinegar. They are made from grain (often maize) and water. White vinegar is used for culinary as well as cleaning purposes.
Wine vinegar is made from red or white wine, and is the most commonly used vinegar in Mediterranean countries and Central Europe. As with wine, there is a considerable range in quality. Better quality wine vinegars are matured in wood for up to two years and exhibit a complex, mellow flavor. Wine vinegar tends to have a less acidity than that of white or cider vinegars. There are more expensive wine vinegars made from individual varieties of wine, such as Champagne, sherry, or pinot grigio.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vinegar
believe me, I have to know this weird stuff.....white vinegar-safe, malt vinegar- makes me sick, wine vinegar- safe if made in the US, cider vinegar- might be safe........my life is annoying. :(

Ketchup is bland and due to most Ketchups being sweetened, just contrasts with itself. Gravy is kind of meh. Soy sauce is liquid sodium so if she likes to have high blood pressure, go soy sauce.

My wife and I have very contrarian food preferences with a lot of things. If opposites attract, they must be referring to food.
She puts ketchup on fries ("chips" to the British folks.) I will put damn near any condiment on them - except ketchup, which I can't stand.
She will order Chinese food without vegetables - but doesn't mind mushrooms. I'll eat vegetables - but if I find a mushroom, heads roll.
She switches back and forth between her main dish, side dishes, and whatever else. I eat my food one dish at a time, from start to finish. As far as I know, I am the only one I know who does this.
She puts Ranch dressing on her salads. I'll put Ranch dressing on just about anything - except salads. Italian is the only salad dressing worthy of being called salad dressing. Ranch dressing is a condiment. Bleu cheese is an abomination.
Last night, she got me to try sauerkraut, which she loves - and I hate. The night before, I got her to try a kumquat, which I love - and she hates.
Under normal circumstances, we should drive each other up the fucking wall. Yet, for whatever reason, we're married. Now, I must run along and get the spiciest thing I can find before she hears I am eating it.

The bigger the better, when it comes to fries.
while normally true, the bigger fries tend to soak up more liquids in their porous interior. thus depending on the dipping element, it could totally drown out the potato flavor instead of enhancing it.

I hate most condiments, except for mustard.
I will put mustard on most of what I eat. If it's a sandwich, it has to have mustard, pickles and onions it in in addition to the rest of the contents.
I normally don't like eggs, but I will eat them scrambled with either mash or with mustard.
My chips (fries) are always with mustard unless I have an urge, in which case I might eat them plain. Crisps (chips), if they are plain, I will eat with mustard. My best friend introduced me to that concept.
My soup... it cannot be eaten unless I have a million packets of pepper to shake on it at certain times. I love my pepper, and it too has a very special spot in everything I eat, unless it's dessert.

Better quality wine vinegars are matured in wood for up to two years and exhibit a complex, mellow flavor. Wine vinegar tends to have a less acidity than that of white or cider vinegars. There are more expensive wine vinegars made from individual varieties of wine, such as Champagne, sherry, or pinot grigio.

believe me, I have to know this weird stuff.....white vinegar-safe, malt vinegar- makes me sick, wine vinegar- safe if made in the US, cider vinegar- might be safe........my life is annoying. :(
That's really weird.... I had no idea that people made vinegar from things other than wine and beer. Shopping lessons with my mom when I was a kid taught me that you have to look for the percentage of the vinegar, make sure it's not entirely transparent, and check that it's made from wine. Otherwise it's cheap artificial stuff...
I like red wine vinegar on steamed spinach.
I like lemon juice and brown sugar on my pancakes.
If I want something warm and caffeinated, it's coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon, and never the other way around.
I prefer plain lemon juice on my salads to most salad dressings.
I've been known to make a sauce for vanilla ice cream that consists of melted chocolate and port.
I like lemon juice on vol-au-vent.
I like lumpia with ketchup.

Same here. That's one of the things that's always on my table: a container of ground cayenne pepper.
That earned me the name of 'Pepper Lady' from my cousin. It then later evolved to be 'Pepper Queen'.
The only weird thing about my eating habits is the way I eat my apples, I eat the whole thing, seeds, stem, everything.

I put potato chips on my burgers.
I prefer to eat the chocolate coating on Butterfingers and Kitkats, then eat the rest.

The thing that gets the most notice is all the RAW dough and batter I like.
Raw homemade pie crust!! The epitome of delicious.
Raw cake batter. Personally I'd never actually bake a cake. It's much better raw! Unfortunately, other people keep wanting to mooch "pieces" of cake, and to get pieces, that means wrecking the poor innocent batter with exposure to heat.
Raw biscuit (the US kind) dough (without yeast!). Not as good as the pie crust, but if it's there, I might as well have some.
Raw cookie dough, goes without saying...
Almost any kind of dry mix that'd result in something sweet if made.
But I can't eat raw bread dough. It's evil stuff: Smells delish, tastes heavenly...until I found that the damn yeast doesn't die in stomach acid (or it's protected by the other ingredients)! So the dough keeps growing to the point of being quite painful!! And to make matters worse, it's almost impossible to chuck up the ever-expanding mass of DOOM! Unfortunately, I found this out the bad way...
MORE "REGULAR" STUFF:
I love peanut butter (and butter...can't have it without the butter). Pancakes and waffles get peanut butter instead of syrup. Toast gets peanut butter. Same with sandwiches.
But I do NOT mix it with jelly, ever. Yecch!
Garlic is great stuff. If peanut butter absolutely won't taste good on something, you can bet that garlic will. Meat gets garlic in mega quantities. And of course, garlic toast is good...once I've already had some with peanut butter. No, the garlic and peanut butter aren't mixed.
Ritz crackers + fudge frosting = Delicious! But not that sandwich version put out by Ritz, which is awful. Jiffy Fudge Frosting FTW, and if I can't get that, then some of that cake frosting in a can.

Do you eat raw eggs a lot, too?
I used to crumble saltine crackers over spaghetti. I liked it.
That malt vinegar on chips thing sounds delicious, loving vinegar as I do, I'm surprised I never thought of it.

Uh... apple seeds have arsenic in them...

I don't know, are we? :D
Uh... apple seeds have arsenic in them...
It's cyanide, actually. And the body is perfectly capable of processing the small amount in the seeds from one apple. You'd have to eat a lot of apple seeds for it to really harm you.

Cyanide? I thought that was peach pits. Maybe those, too. I know some kind of fruit seed concentrates arsenic.

Raw eggs alone would be way too slimy, yech...

ah... but do you eat them layer by layer?
another habit of mine whenever it comes to layered stuff...
so yes, Twix is eaten chocolate first, then the caramel/penut butter then cookie...
Uh... apple seeds have arsenic in them...
I know, but I'd have to eat like 300 apples in a day for it to be dangerous, I eat around 2-3 per day. Tapioca pudding also contains cyanide, more than apple seeds in fact. Also, the protective coating around the seed is designed to pass the seed through digestive systems intact, otherwise apple trees wouldn't germinate very well at all.

Yes, I actually do. :)

I do the same exact thing!
