The twelve best games of 2010
http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/2010.html
An amazing/hilarious article about what he expects/wishes will be released in 2010.
A bit of an optimist, but I wouldn't mind giving these a try.

It's ridiculous, because in 2010 we will have yet another generation of console.
Then, if you beat the whole game, unlocking every secret, you get to lightsaber George Lucas. Just screams and burning flannel, man, I'm telling you.
I'd buy a Wii just for that.

The World War Omega game and World of Starcraft look good, but S.N.A.F.U. reads like a right-wing, reality-denying, clusterfuck of a game.

gamecube was released 2001.
ps2 released 2000
x box released 2001
six years before the current gen.
at that rate, it'll be 2013 before we see the next generation.

World War Omega and SNAFU both look fun as hell. I could see myself beginning an all out rampage to level cities in SNAFU, just because I'd be bored, and I'd know that I don't give a damn about being re-elected.
World of Starcraft would receive the exact same reception that World of Warcraft has already received from me: "meh".
Honestly. Once I pay for a game, I don't want to be charged a monthly fee to play it. That just plain sucks cock.

SNAFU is based on an earlier article he did where he combined Starcraft and the Iraq war to make the most hellisly unplayable strategy game in existence. If I remember correctly, that article ended with the rant from the end of Apocalypse Now

SNAFU looks like the most accurate war sim evar. I'd play it.

I would definetly buy some of those... The lightsaber one looks great, S.N.A.F.U. vaguely reminds me of something, and Killchain looks like it would actually be a really fun game, but really hard. I'd go for it.

I like the Zombie one.

It's not the rant from apocalypse now, it's the rant from that "You can't handle the truth" movie, whose name I can never remember.

Quite right.
PS3 won't be full production until later this year.
Then 1 more year, min, for market pentration. 2 more for saturation and another couple for it to become outdated.
That brings us up to 2013.
Game-makers won't begin to fully utilise PS3 until at least 2009, imo. Took them a couple of years to fully use PS2 and PS3 is way more powerful and Blu-Ray can store heaps more. We won't see 60 gig games for a long time.

something like that. Had Jack Nicholson in it hamming it up marvellously, iirc.

The PS3 will continue to be useless, and a PS4 will be a sign of the apocalypse.

Wasn't the UK just totally hosed by Sony on the PS3, on features and price?

This is an outrage - twelve insane game ideas of the future, and not one mention of Eat Hair (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11912568&postcount=6)?

I like the looks of World War Omega, SNAFU, and Killchain. Especially Killchain.
