For the purpose of this thread and poll, if a show is playing in both New York and London, then go by the city it premiered in.
For example, while "Phantom" plays in both West End and Broadway theaters, it would be classified as West End since it premiered there 2 years before ALW opened it on Broadway.
This is a tough choice for me. My all-time favorite show is "Phantom of the Opera." It is obviously a West End musical. I love most of Andrew Lloyd Webber's work, which is all classified as West End.
I still have tho choose Broadway because there are just so many great shows. Perhaps if I was a bigger fan of "Les Mis," I would vote for West End. "Avenue Q," "Spamalot," "Wicked," "The Lion King," and "Fiddler" all make me have to favor Broadway over the great musicals that have originated in London's West End theaters.
