What's your eco-footprint?
This is an interesting survey. The questions can be a little arbitrary with their benchmarks, but their FAQ clearly indicates that this is supposed to be an estimate.

Food - 5.2 acres
Mobility - 3.5 acres

If everyone lived like you, we would need 5.7 planets.

Wow, there's an eye opener for me. I guess the fact that I fly frequently out-weighs the fact that I never drive and seldom use public transit (I mostly walk or bike), I live in a small apartment, and I produce relatively little household waste. Bummer. I would like to say that I would be prepared to cut down on my flying, but I just can't handle giving up seeing my family. :(

My gas mileage on my SUV is killing me, it gets 28 MPG, but while that's awesome for an SUV it's just not good enough with the amount of driving I have to do.
My only other option that makes sense is to get a newer SUV......like a hybrid, but then I only pick up 3 or 4 MPG so it's not worth the money to me.

how much processed food do you eat? how many times a week do you eat meat?
I think our diet saved us from the bulk of my driving.
All our food is local grown, unprocessed, except for a few treats.

That's probably it. Although I almost never eat beef or pork, I'd bet almost none of what I eat is grown around here...excepting the occasional trip to the farmers market for fresh produce.
...I'll have to work on that, since my city isn't going to improve mass transit anytime soon.

This thing is retarded. It takes into account the billions of those in poverty like their "footprints" actually do anything to the ecosystem, then compares them to you and goes "Horry shit compared to a old blind chinese man who walks barefoot through a rice patty every morning, you're sixty billion planets!"
This is the kinda shit that makes people not take global warming seriously.

I finally figured out how to get down to only one planet.
I had to make some serious sacrifices, admittedly. I'm now living in a hut with seven other people, which is smaller than 500 sq. feet. I'm a vegan who only eats stuff that's been grown locally, I don't travel by any non-biological means and I probably don't drink beer.
I do have electricity, but I must operate under principles of energy conservation.

Hmm. I don't have a car or a drivers licence and rely almost exclusively on public transport, but since I put around 15km-50km a week (which would count the times I need to use a taxi), it asked me how much petrol the car uses. The hell should I know? And I don't have any idea how big my house is in terms of square meters. But I eat too much meat, apparently.
EDIT - although hang on, I dispute that...while most of my meals contain meat, I usually eat only one major meal per day.
