Do you like where you live?

I really like where I live, think it's great, I would like a bit more cash to make life more comfortable. But I own my own house, like my neighbours and the area I live in. There is very little about the place that I would change.
How about you? and if you don't like where you live, where would you rather be? and why?

I like it here.
The only downside is, it's 300 km away from my boyfriend.

Could do with a few things to liven up the afternoons. Currently we have...
...um...
...an industrial estate and a defunct brewery.

I live in a nice house, nice neighbours, low crime, no noise and ony a few chavs around. Good Chinese close by and within walking distance of my parents (free childcare!!)
Life is pretty good for me:)

New Zealand is paradise; I cannot believe that people can live in other regions of the world
I guess...it's a bit inconvenient in terms of transport (I don't have a car) and i'd much prefer my own place, but I can't afford that. So it's okay, I guess.

I live in a small cozy flat , which is just as much as I need, enough room for myself, my cat and the occasional friends who come over. I don't own it because the landlord wouldn't sell it :( and I do not have £70,000 laying around here. If I got a mortgage then the bank would own it for the nest 25 years....ummm, no thanks. Too big of a commitment, and I am scared of OPM ( other people's money)
the rent is pretty small, I have a driveway in which only I park, pretty quiet area with professionals and retirement homes, good quality broadband line and free wifi. The University and parks are 5 minutes away or less, all the shops I need (greengrocers, supermarket, pubs, health shop, delikatessen, computer store) within 5 minutes' walk, no chavs...

I have a nice flat in a quiet part of town but still close enough to the main street. 3 minutes walk from work and nice restaurants nearby. I guess crime could be a bit lower, but that goes for the whole town.
I think I would like to live in New Zeeland aswell. Or Canada.

I really like where I'm living at the moment. I live in a small town just outside the city proper, but there's a bus stop about 200m from my house. The city I live in is just big enough to have a lot to do, but not big enough to feel dangerous.

I like the sound of your place Shreetolv, it sounds ideal for you.
We live in a really low crime area, there are a few chavs who pass through our area on the way to shops etc, but none live in our road. I have a four bedroom house with three bathrooms and a garage, a great living room, well fitted kitchen, utility and dinning room also a conservatory which is where my computer is. The garden is a good size for a modern house in the area and the only fault is that it is a bit overlooked. We live in a village, with a castle, a Norman church and the remains of a roman villa. The main street is basically unchanged for over a hundred years and there are two pubs, a hairdressers, a general store and post office and a lovely Italian restaurant and a couple of other little shops. There are new houses being built on one side of the village (our house is only 13 years old) mainly because the government said we had to have tons of new houses here, and where I live a lot of the area is classed as 'AONB' (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) Heritage Coast and the National Trust own lots of the land around here too, so they have to cram in houses where they can sadly.
I like it. The 1/2 hour walk to college most mornings and the 1 1/2 hour bus journey home at the weekend sucks a bit though.
I'm living in the inner city in England, and I'm fed up here. Relations between white and asian people are bad, the parks nearby aren't safe enough for me to go jogging anywhere, and I don't have a car so can't get places I want to.
My house itself is ok, except mice keep coming through from next door, so I've got traps set up everywhere.
I wish I lived out in the country.

I like my little flat. It's just about big enough for all my junk, but I don't have acres of space to hoover.
I like overlooking a field with sheep (and lambs!) in it.
I don't like that almost all my friends are about a hundred miles away, but they live in London, which is rubbish and stupidly expensive.
I would prefer it if the other five flats in the building didn't have anyone in. Or at least the one opposite me (he's very annoying - worse, I quite liked the people who lived there before) or the one below me (who're only very occasionally slightly annoying). But hey, hell is other people.
It's funny - I live in a small(ish) village(ish), in a building with at most ten other people, and in a police lineup I'm not sure I'd recognise any of them other than my annoying neighbour.

I used to live in a suburb in Stockholm before which was great because I really like that city but now I live in a small shithole somewhere in the centre of Sweden which is really booring. Fortunately I have only one and a half year left of high school and after that I'll probably move back to Stockholm to study.

It's one of those things.......what is it? a love/hate relationship. I hate the current climate as far as politics, but I grew up here, so I am sticking it out to try to change things. I really think it could be a great state, and since the last elections, the balance in the house and senate are better for some real change to pull through.

its not-so-bad I live right on the outskirts which means no chavs unfortunately it also means the only friend I had in the area just moved out (:() so I do have to walk a few miles everyday
I could go on all day but the gist is its where I grew up and as such its home
I like it well enough here, though I'd rather live in the country. Small house, fenced in yard, lots of fruit trees growing. Away from people and with enough room for my dog to run around a bit.
I have a nice little apartment in a complex that's really close to my work (I can walk if I choose to). It's about a three minute walk from my door to the levee and bike trail by the river, which is a nice place to walk my dog, go for a bike ride or take a jog. There are good restaurants here, though the nightlife could be a bit better. I can take day trips to Lake Tahoe, Napa, and San Francisco. All in all, it's a good place to live. I just haven't decided how long I want to stay here.
Well there is a mall near, a theater, supermarkets, shops. The weather is usually decent and I have this computer in my room. Things seem to be pretty decent.
during the week i would prefer to live closer to my university. rent a room like most of my friends. that would save me a lot of time commuting (+-3 hours is normal) and i wouldn't have to stay over with friends if i wanted to go out. it would be nice if there was a little less heavy industry, but that would also bring mass-unemployment with it and that kind of sucks. but other than those inconveniences i like the area i live in. most of my friends live here, wich is always a plus, and there are some beautiful places here (especially if you know where to look). also the quality of life seems to be quite high in comparison with other countries. so yeah i like it
i do want to trave a lot though and maybe go and work in a third world country (but that's not really because they are so great to live in).

Absolutely. Colorado's a great place to be, at least for someone (like me) whose two favorite things in the world are the outdoors and low taxes. Fabulous weather, nice people, relatively low crime, good education--yep, it's pretty sweet.
That said, to live here (or anywhere) takes a very specific type of person. For example, others have noted that they really like living in New York City, which I would HATE to do because I love getting away from people every so often. But people who love New York City would probably hate where I live, for the exact converse of that.
Eh, it's okay. I'm looking forward to when I can move back to the Cincinnati area...that's where I grew up, and I loved living there. It's also got a great economy and a lot of jobs in my field, which are two big plusses.

nice home...quiet street...close to everything I need, supermarket, schools, Uni, parks, all only minutes away and the Rocky Mountains less than an one hour drive, but 'm not in love with the place....anything I want is here but as long as I have my family with me I could live in many other places, I know of a few nice small towns in Europe and Canada where I could be equally content...

I went from living in a forest on the side of a mountain to living on a mostly deserted man made island. It's been okay, I'm still adjusting. There is a lot more going on around me, but most of that is on the water. It's still quiet, no racoons. Has its moments. Most of the time I'm closer to work.
Sheffield's lovely. The people are very friendly and I'm about twenty minutes from the Peaks. :D

In fact, not only do I like it, but people from around the world seem to have settled right here where I live, doubling the population by simple immigration in just 10 years.
It makes my town an interesting place.

I hate it. It's suburban Essex, and thus full of chavs and common arseholes.
