Mine's capitalist. I'm a narrow rich pig!

What's your ideal system?

Also, post your nation (real-life) and its system please.

Why only three options? We must have either completely out of control capitalism or state ownership of everything socialism? And what do you mean by "communism," as there are a number of different opinions within communist thought.

In short, your poll sucks.

Communism is my preference.

My real-life nation is the United States, and its economic system is statist-capitalist... the corporations and the state gang up on you.

I want to live in a lottery based economy. Everyone gains the resources they get for that day through drawing random numbers in the morning.

Hey, don't knock kimchi, it is to die for when prepared right.
More importantly, it would force people to become inventive in their lifestyles, like frying the leather from the 400 pounds of baby's shoes you won last week.

Cool. No one so far has actually psoted a workable economic system.
Personally, I'd prefer semi-socialism with the lassiez-faire dressing, hold the sales tax.

My preferred systemis probably similar to yours, a mix of capitalism and socialism. Capitalism for consumer goods, socialism for infrastructure heavy things like power, water, etc. and also to make sure the capitalist part doesn't get too abusive.

Who says that a lottery-economy couldn't work? No one's tried it out yet.
I bet you're one of those people who, when they first heard about Stalinism (an economic system in which everyone does what Stalin says, also, subsidized housing!), would have called it oppressive and absurd. Yet, it turned Russia into a world power.

Woohoo! Anarcho-capitalist FTW!

My system is the mercantilist United States. They like to pretend it's free enterprise, but everything is based on political whoring.

Anarcho-Capitalist. Or Market Anarchist, if you will.

My real life country is Australia, and they are also state-capitalist. Frustrating. Why should the government hold a monoploy on their services, afraid of competition? ;)

Maybe make it monthly? Or on a bi-weekly basis, like most companies give their paychecks.

The advantage of a daily (or at least weekly) drawing is that it allows people who end up not recieving food or water in one drawing to survive to the next without resorting to cannibalising their neighbors.
Because, of course, to maintain the purity of the lottery no trading is allowed. You get what you win, nothing more and nothing less.

So I cannot use the 1.8 thousand loaded M16's I won to kill other players and take their winnings?

Aw, but trading would be fun in a system like that. Imagine the markets!

No, they're winnings are theirs alone, because the right to property is a sacred right that no one can interfere with, not even the people owning the property.

That sounds like a good compromise. So, now that we've got the details worked out, all that is required for us to do is to pick a country, overthrow its existing social order, conquer its army, supplant its government and enforce our new system upon the inhabitants.

capitalist with heavy socialist policies: universal health care, public education, a nice big social safety net, that sort of thing. Basically the capitalism game as usual, but with a few extras to make sure no one loses totally.

I favour the complete abolition of state and property and replacing these concepts with a system of egalitarian communes following socialist ideals and featuring direct-democracy in workplaces.

Indeed. Next to none of them can justifiably be called "socialist."

Nope. There are always a minority of individuals within those parties, however, that truly consider themselves socialists and naively think that they can make a difference within them.

Coincidentally, most are university students. :P
