Mine has to be Roy 'Chubby' Brown getting chased off the stage in Middlesbrough in the 1990's.

"In the early 90s he was run off stage in Middlesbrough in the first few minutes of a show. At the height of a child abuse scandal in the town, he opened his show by saying "I'm surprised there are so many of you here - I thought you'd all be at home fucking the kids." He was also banned from performing on stage in Darlington by the borough council."

That is actually funny, however, the best comedy moment I've seen for a good while was the last episode of "Never mind the Buzzcocks" when Preston walked off in a huff. That was priceless.:D

That was the funniest thing I've ever read.

That was the funniest thing I've ever read.

He is good at stuff like that...

"He also caused controversy in a Catholic social club in his hometown of Middlesbrough, beginning the act by pointing at a crucifix on the wall with Jesus and saying "I see you caught the bastard who nicked the video."

You have to wonder though why was he booked to do a Catholic social club. One of his videos was called 'Clitoris Allsorts'. They were asking for trouble.

He is funny, but equally, when you actually think about how insulting he was to Preston, the bloke did well not to twat him. Not that I remotely like Preston, Chantelle, or the Ordinary Boys, but implying that Preston's wife was an uneducated, simple whore on national TV was excessive.

But awesome television all the same:D

If she had some sort of talent then yes, I'm not saying she's uneducated but she's not he sharpest tool in the shed. Oh well I watch Never Mind the Buzzcocks for entertainment and it never fails.

Excessive??

Chantelle quotes:-

- "What's a gynaecologist?"

- [To George on hearing he was an MP]: "Does that mean you work in that big room with the green seats?'"
- Chantelle: "Is it funny?"
- Preston: "I dunno, is it? ... It is though. Isn't it? It is."

- [About George]: "What's the name of his band again... is it Respect?

But equally, that doesn't warrant the superior disdain Simon Amstell adopts at times. Bloody funny, but she might have feelings somewhere....

I think Bill Burr just destroying Philly for 30 minutes was the best ever. They were booing the guy before him like the bunch of hateful idiots they are and he just laid into them. It was if he was verbally raping their mothers in front of them and the best standup ever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S4nSzE4N-o

Back in 2001, not long after the September 11th attacks, there was a roast of Hugh Hefner and the audience was mostly comedians and performers. Gilbert Gottfried got up and made some joke about how he'd have been there earlier but he was on a plane from Boston to LA, or something. It was an obvious 9/11 joke and the audience didn't take it well, so Gilbert launched into a long and detailed version of "The Aristocrats" joke, the one about the family act in which the most gross and depraved acts are committed. I've seen his rendition and it was pretty memorable.

And though it wasn't stand-up, back in 1992, Robin Williams appeared on Johnny Carson's next to last Tonight Show and described then-Vice President Dan Quayle as being "two tacos short of a combination platter."

Chris Rock on "Bring the Pain." One hour of stand up brilliance from start to finish.

And Bill Cosby's "Himself" show, especially the part about his "brain-damaged children."
