Hello from Amsterdam!

We've been all fancy this time and got internet on TV in our room, ooh! no more crazy French keyboards

anyway, hi from PM and Glitziness in Amsterdam, celebrating our 1 year anniversary :) we "met" on NS so its nice to say hi and stuff...

things have gone great - flight was easy and non-stressful for a change :) (we're just good for each other :P)... apart from almost losing my pasport. hotel is 4* and very nice (lovely says Glitzi) and right in the heart of town, a street away form the Damrak and just along from the centraal station. so far we've taken a tram (great example of cheap, effective inner-city public transport :D), canal bus, and a taxi (or tazi as Glitz wants me to say for some reason...)
she says she's not silly.

i think she is.

so we've seen the Anne Frank house, and it was unsettling to say the least. we've strolled round the red light district, gone to a hash museum and i've toked a whole one joint (which after 2 years of not smoking got me really high :p)
good meals all round too (been really lucky with restaurants!)

we've also watched a lot of star trek ;-)

plenty of pictures taken, and we'll share when we get back :) having a great time and loving being together, getting to spend time together properly and relaxing together :)

Glitzi says "yay Amsterdam and Huw!" :)

Ooh! Do they still have the "Freedom of Speech vs. Minority Liberties" project in the Anne Frank house? The one where you push buttons to vote after some video footage?

Also, you should take a look at the torture museum. It's rather cruel, but informative.

I went to Amsterdam when I was like 5. I barely remember it. :(

But you and Glitz seem happy :) :fluffle::fluffle:

Hey there!

Glad you're having fun. :D

My sister's been to Amsterdam. There's a Beer Museum, apparently, if you can find it.

Cool. :)

I was going to go to Amsterdam at the start of March, but I can't afford it. :(

Don't miss the chance to go to Museum Vrolik! It's pretty much the main reason I want to go to Amsterdam. It's at the Faculty of Medicine, Academic Medical Center (AMC), Meibergdreef 15, 1105 AZ Amsterdam. You might want to actually take a look at what's there before you go, might not be the sort of thing you actually want to see...

Some people like the artmuseums as well :P Not to mention the coffeeshops ;)
But regrettably the city will be one big construction pit till 2012 or so.
Beh. You don't have to go to Amsterdam to find a shop which sells coffee in the Netherlands.:D
