What Iran Offered: help stabilize Iraq, end its support of Hezbollah and Hamas, and to increase transparency of their nuclear energy program

What Iran wanted: Wilkerson asserts that what Iran was asking for in return is that economic sanctions on Iran be lifted, that the US dismantle the Mujahedeen Khalq, an Iranian opposition group inside Iraq, and that the US government end its general hostility toward Iran.

How could we possibly turn that down?

i wonder if we would turn it down today. back in '03 bush was popular and knew that his little adventure in iraq was going to be a splendid success. no need to strike a premature deal when in a few months iraq would be stable all on its own and we could turn our eye to doing as we pleased with iran.

What happened is we have a war monger in office. We could have accepted this deal and Iraq would be a safer place, sadly as long as Bush and his administration has monetary intrest in the region there will not be peace.

Also, I thought Iran offered this deal again earlier this year? I may have heard wrong.
