Since everyone is going to try and make you feel stupid for just discovering this song as a public service I will deflect some of that onto myself by revealing that I thought of that as a Steve Martin song for a long time before I made the Beatles connection later in life.

In my defense, I was young, so very young...

We used to sing it in primary school assemblies with our hippy teacher on his guitar when I was kid ( late 70s)

I prefer Norwegian Wood. Nothing like arson set to a pleasant, languid sitar melody.
