Why did the beatles hate each other?

srsly,

They were like the best band ever. I'm listening to them right now. I just think it is sad that they could not put their personal differences aside and give us more good music.

Except for ringo. He's expendable.

So for fun, name your fav. beatles song. Or tell me why you hate them so I can laugh at you.

Go read some bios of them. It isn't just a simple "hated eachother" thing.

Paul was a jerk, Lennon got self-important, and Harrison was stifled by the other two.

So very, very hard to narrow it down to a single song. Off the top of my head, I'll say "In My Life", for the harpsichord solo. There's one that has a really good french horn in it too. I can't think of the name of it now, maybe "For No-one"? I love "I"ll Follow The Sun" too. In fact, I could probably list about 20 songs, then think of more still.

Doesn't all you need is love have a french horn thingy in it?

Maybe, but that's not the one I'm thinking of. I'm 99% sure it's "For No-one".

ooh yah.

You want her,
You need her,

And yet you don't believe her.

But the horn is very subtle in that one.

I don't hate them, I just don't see what's so fantastic about them when compared to some of their contemporaries.

I always seem to crank up 'Drive My Car'. 'Eleanor Rigby' is also very good.

Then again, so is everything else.

Did you say someone doesn't like them? I almost feel like using a gun smiley...

I like "A Hard Day's Night" for being good classic rock, and not overly sentimental *cough*EightDaysAWeek*cough*, but as of now my favorite is "Helter Skelter". It's really heavy for the 60s and it's damn good. I performed "A Hard Day's Night" for a talent show in fifth-grade.

I just went to see the Beatles Cirque Du Soleil "Love" show. It was highly awesome. I was never a huge Beatles fan but I do like quite a few of their songs.

Favorite? Couldnt say?

but I like to parody with my own lyrics:

you say get high, and I say get stoned

get stoned, get stoned

I don't know why you say get high, I say get stoned.

What you call indie wouldn't be in existence if it wasn't for the beatles. For after all, how can there be a counterculture if there is no culture to counter? the beatles set the precedent for every other rock and roll band that came after them, without them we wouldn't have modern rock and roll.

I love the Beatles but the Stones were/are fantastic as well.

Paint it Black, Brown Sugar, Wild Horses and Get Off My Cloud are some of the greatest tracks of all time.....

Oh, pish! Rock would have died had the Beatles not existed? Give me a break. They were hardly the only influential group of the 60s.

Never once did I say rock would have died, but it definitly would be a lot different. The Beatles' weren't the only influential group in the 60's but they were, in my opinion, the most influential. Countless bands have mimiced their style and sound, to the point where its become what defines mainstream rock.

I really couldn't choose a favorite beatles song. There are too many that i just really like. The entirety of Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band is amazing, as are Abbey Road and The Beatles (White Album). Possibly my all time favorite is "Here Comes the Sun" or maybe "Maxwell's Sivler Hammer." Amusingly, the agreement amongst my friends is that the one song that fits me best is, in fact, "Maxwell's Silver Hammer".

Hating the Beatles is one of those phases young people go through when they think they know everything and/or want to take the piss out of something that others consider great.

It goes like this: "oh, my parents like them? They suck."

Okay, okay, it's not always like that, but I have a hard time believing the vast majority of Beatles-haters' arguments for any inferiority on the part of John, Paul, George and Ringo.

EDIT: Forgot my favorites...

"Maxwell's Silver Hammer"
"You Never Give Me Your Money"
"Eleanor Rigby"
"Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite"
"You Can't Do That"

And sorry, Ringo-haters, he was not replaceable. Flashy he wasn't, but more often than not, when a tempo was needed for a Beatles tune, they asked Ringo. The man's sense of time is impeccable. You can't slag a man for not being Gene Krupa.

Some people prefer the Stones, other the Beatles. I prefer Cream. Saying that, the Beatles rock. Paul was always my favourite member, he wrote the pop tunes.

Ringo is so underrated, George is brilliant. And John is like... fleh.

Oh and my favourite Beatles song is "Come Together". Written by John, but oh well >_>
