Human Meat

I heard that we ingest so much poison that human meat wouldn't meet the USA's quality standards for pork. Is it true? If so, what the hell are we ingesting that makes us bad to eat? :headbang:

Lots and lots of chemicals such as food colouring, E numbers, sweeteners, some traces of pesticides and a lot of other crazy stuff.

So I take it this means it sucks to be a cannibal at the moment.

To the best of my knowledge, this is true. It mostly has to do with our bodies not being intended or equipped to process many modern food additives. I don’t remember the details of it, unfortunately.

I'm sure we could make an educated guess but I can't say for sure. Probably all the chemicals we pump our food full of. Hardly anything is natural anymore. But at least this should keep the Hannibal Lectors at bay. :p

Also, a lot of it is actually from all the meat we eat. It's the food-chain effect we often hear about with pesticides and the like. Each pork chop, hamburger, bowl of chicken soup, etc. we eat has a certain amount of fat-soluble chemicals in it, mostly in turn acquired from the feed the animals receive, which these days is generally a barely edible concoction of corn derivatives, antibiotics, growth hormones, animal by-products, and nutritional supplements. These chemicals, being fat-soluble, aren't expelled in our urine but instead concentrate in our body tissues, including muscle. Eating a healthier diet with less animal products, more fruits and vegetables, and focusing especially on organic and all-natural foods, will significantly increase the quality of our "meat".

we eat too many processed foods (that's the big we, not we as in my family because we mostly eat whole foods)

Actually, eating human meat is unhealthful primarily because human meat, obviously, can transmit the full range of human communicable diseases to humans who eat it.

I will give 1 million dollars to anyone who sanitizes human meat for consumption. And provides me with a lifetime supply of said meat.

Most things that aren't pork, broccoli for instance, probably wouldn't meet the USA quality standards for pork, and just because something isn't considered edible by the government doesn't mean that you aren't supposed to eat it.

Heh. Pork is such a disgusting meat anyway, really shouldn't eat it to begin with.

That's one of the main reasons why Jews aren't supposed to eat it...

I doubt it. Most industrially raised animals get fed a lot worse than humans do.

Just look at it this way: The older you get, the longer you accumulate all different kinds of heavy metals, toxins, chemicals and so on - so it's really not surprising that our flesh ain't really the best.

I mean, even sharks don't like eating us, so we really must tast like crap.

(I wonder how high the U.S. standard for pork is to begin with!)

Then you evidently haven't been properly introduced to top-quality, lean pork. Sensational. Lip-smackingly flavourful. Truly delectable, my friend the pig.

If we ate each other there'd be far less of us, that freeing up a lot of other problems. We wouldn't need prisons for a start. Foot shortages would vanish, populations would decrease :P

A modest proposal, as it were :P

Good grief. I'm going to start growing my own food. Really, I've always wanted a garden. When I stop buying meat.. maybe I'll hunt some deer, rabbit and turkey on my bro-in-law or cousins hunting land. I think I could hunt if I knew I wasn't buying any meat.. and the only meat I was going to eat would be what I killed. Guess I'll have to start fishing too.

Probably has something to do with all the animal by products they feed straight back to the stock.

Hmmm should i feed my pigs vegetables or pig carcass?
Hmmm...

Isn't feeding the stock its own stock what causes mad cow disease? That's disgusting btw... and I love a good roast.

It's all about money! Every damn decrepit thing you can think of on this earth at this present time all boils down to GREED. As if pride wasn't enough! Pride jumped out the window.. it's all GREED!

I need to go watch something happy.
