I'm single because thats how life is. You see I'm not going to get into a relationship till after my life has settled down a bit, so I'll probably start dating october time but if I find someone I really like before that then who knows what'll happen.

I'm not going to say I have never question my faith, but this isn't one of the reasons why. It makes complete sense to me why dating is not allowed. To me dating increases certain temptations and takes people minds off Allah when everything we do should be for Allah.

They can claim rape, sexual assault, and spousal abuse and no one gives it a second thought. The best is if she is legally drunk, its rape, but if the guy is drunk, its not. He can make decisions when drunk, but she cant.

A lot of your distain for women seems to originate from your position relative to them rather than from the people themselves, and looking at why that is the case would probably help your standing among them considerably.

The thing is that the approach to rejection you have is recursive. The attitude builds and makes each rejection both more likely and more potent. Even one rejection, when combined with the reactionary stance, can cause a cascade.

The causes of a lot of your rejections probably have roots in your response to previous rejections. Deal constructively with the fallout from those and your next attempt will probably meet with more (if not total) success than your earlier ones.

In any case, introspection is rarely a bad thing, for whatever reason. =)

So, if you factor in the fact that asking is hard, the chances of immediate and awkward failure, and the probablility that they turn out to be sub-par, chances aren't rife. Still though, I like relationships and when they are worth it, they are worth it. *nod*

I only talk to her about once a week, if I'm lucky, because she spends the entire lunch hour in his arms whispering to him, and it's hard to coordinate after-school stuff between my choir, singing, auditions, and twelfth-grade homework load, and her working, tutouring, and boy-time. I feel really guilty, but there are times when I actually wish they would breakup because she's become a totally different person, and I miss the old her. We used to spend hours wandering the neighbourhood, making inside jokes, giggling about boys, comparing career choices, gossiping about people. Now the sparse time we spend together is completely filled with me counselling her in relationship problems and her telling me that she doesn't support my love life because she "knows stuff" about the guy I like that she thinks would upset me, but she thinks it's better I find out on my own. The only positive side is it's pushed me alot closer to our other mutual bestie, because we all used to hang out in a trio at lunch (well, a trio within a larger group), but now she's with him, so my Duckie and I wander around stalking our manbeasts, and speaking in a language so incomprehensible it's like a code.

Personally, I choose not to enter into relationships of the sort being mentioned here.

For starters, I have heard many hellish tales of people within relationships. One of my friends went out with a girl, and he was sucked in with his relationship; he spent all his spare time and money on the pursuit of this girl, and one day they went all the way. Not long after that incident, the two of them broke up and my friend became an emotional wreck. He later recounted to me the whole tale and I came to the conclusion that it had been an emotional rollercoaster ride. I had another friend of mine, this time a female, that liked a guy, was asked out by him, and not long afterward, he started pressurising her to have sex. I remember having to help her break up with this guy and I spent several late nights attempting to help. I witnessed another emotional rollercoaster ride. Personally, I do not think that the emotional rollercoaster ride is worth it.

Also, of course there is the time and money aspect. I am at the moment getting ready to do a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Property. Certainly my studies will absorb a lot of my time, and I feel that entering into a relationship will have a negative impact. Also, I would like to spend my money on things that are worthwhile, such as stocks, bonds and real estate, instead of wasting it on something that will merely leave me an emotional wreck.

Therefore, I am single and proud to be single.

There's no one within fifty miles I'd date on a bet.

I'm single because I want to be. It's not that I desire to be so at the moment, it's that there's really nobody of my type in my area, state, or region that I'd like to go with... Unless, of course, they just happened to move down here, and they don't have a southern accent.
