For those that don't read Penny-Arcade news articles, this is a video about the evils of the Nintendo DS and the possibility a child molester could find your child on pictochat! Pictochat! The best claim is where it reaches the end and seriously claims that a child molester, while driving along in their car, could spot your child in the backseat of your car and contact them via pictochat without your knowledge. Let me repeat. A child molester driving his car could contact your child via the Nintendo DS's pictochat feature. Therefore, child molesters have at least three arms.

On a serious note, I'm not sure what the Milwaukee news investigators are smoking that would lead them to seriously say a child molester driving along in his car could contact anyone via Pictochat. That is of course after they assume Pictochat was a pop-up instant messaging service as opposed to something you have to open and actively use instead of, you know, doing something fun like playing video games.

Oh wow! My youngling got one of those Nintendo things for Christmas. Having read the article linked to, my concerns that he might sometimes neglect the quality of his homework in a rush to get to play with it, or that too many hours of extended play could be expensive due to excessive battery consumption remain, but in addition I now fear that my previous assesment of the level of idiocy to which modern news media has sunk grossly underestimated the extent of the problem... :rolleyes:

fox milwaukee has been on a "technology is gonna rape your babies!!!1!!1!" kick for at least two years now. i assume even longer, but that's what i can personally attest to. they haven't had a single reasonable story on it yet, despite at least 15 attempts. hell, in half of them the facts they actually talk about directly contradict their silly conclusions.
