Obviously, nobody would wish the collapse of an entire region solely for political vindication. Not even a caricature of your so-called "America-hating liberals".

Secondly, even if Iraq miraculously recovered, the Bush Administration would be seen as flawed at best. He's done too much to damage our freedoms here.

I'm not trolling, I just want to see how many liberals actualy hate freedom.
(I'm a liberal, BTW.)

I want to see the coalition run with its tail in its arse so that this shit doesn’t get tried again

Then again do I count because I’m one of “them”, seeing as how this thread seems to be based on the assumption that the internets are American?

ahh shoot. I missunderstood and thought it was an opinion poll, not one where I'm God and decide the future. :(

Given that this thread sounds very trollish I shouldn't respond but what the hell.

I can only wonder how you think Iraq is going to turn into a Mecca of democracy. Does the situation there seem to be leaning in that direction, even in the slightest way? Of course not. It is hawkish people who want to continually say that water isn't wet and that if we only "stay the course" things will somehow improve there. After all it is our very presense that is forming new terrorists and giving them ample oppurtunity to train. But I'm sure everything will work out just because American politicos says it will.

And by the way, even if the situation in Iraq does somehow turn around and a stable democracy is formed, do you actually think Bush will be seen as the greatest president in history? You are joking I hope or maybe you are having one fantastic opium dream.

A liberal in the sense of a Zell Miller Democrat, or a Log Cabin Republican?

Apparently a liberal in the sense of a Democrat. So likely not actually a liberal.

A liberal in the sense that I am a radical social libertarian against nearly everything this administration has done, especially this war.

wouldn't that make you a libertarian?

And wouldn’t a radical libertarian be anarchist or am I missing something here:confused:

I predict that the surge will fail and so will Iraqi democracy. That's not what I want to happen, but that's what will happen. I'd like to see a ragtag bunch of misfits including US soldiers, Iraqi civilians, and a talking sheep discover that all the unrest is being caused by alien mind control parasites, then discover where the alien base is and blow it up. I don't see that happening though.

The thread's not about predicting what will happen. It's about what you would prefer to happen.

I'm confused. What is this poll asking? I thought it was asking for predictions.

I don't see how this isn't trolling if the poll answers are desired aoutcomes.

BTW I voted wrong too.

And it's not a binary propostition either. Even if Iraq is successful, Bush will still be a failure IMHO.

Iraq becomes the Mecca of democracy

You mean "becomes the Mecca of democratic principles" I hope ? If you really wish to turn a country the size of Iraq into a true democracy I will gladly kick the chair away while a noose is around your neck.

Alright, America hating liberals, here's your chance to go on the record in support of the terrorists.
There are two options and no middle ground; you be The Decider:

Iraq becomes the Mecca of democracy which rivals that of any western country, and the Bush administation goes down in hisory as one of the greatest of all time.
The surge fails, Iraq descends even further into chaos. The Bush administration is forced to admit that it was wrong, and leaves with its tail between its legs. Bush and friends are remembered as the worst administration in U.S. history.
* - Yes, I realize everyone will vote for this option out of spite.

NOTE: This is a hypothetical situation. I'm not asking what will happen, I'm asking what you would rather have happen.

you forgot one option in your poll.

Iraq successful, but more because of the Democrats/Liberals and not the Bush Administration.

This was just supposed to be a subtle jab at conservatives that say that liberals hate America. I was too inarticulate to pull it off. Apologies all around.

You came off sounding more like a Bushevik saying "Either you give Dear Leader credit for turning Iraq into a Democracy or you hate him enough to destroy a country."

Snip from a trollish reactionary

Even if it goes like you want with Bush, the end still will not have justified the means: 600,000+ dead Iraqi civilians.

I'm still contemplating a revolution because Bush was eating birthday cake two days after Katrina struck on the longest presidential vacation in over 37 years.

"Let the poor black folk eat cake."

The Iraq War is just the topping on the shit pile that is the Bush Administration II.

I believe that out of all the Presidents in the country's history, Il Douche Shrub the Dear Leader Chimp is the one most likely to cost the United States its Superpower status.

Well given that his new budget proposal would utterly destroy the lower class of America, because you know they don't exist in his eyes; and the dept that the occupation is costing and will cost us will only make things worse.

There's a lot of rebuilding ahead of us, and unfortunately the No Child Left Behind Act only divides the lower class citizens even further. Schools that don't meet standards have their budgets cut until they do.

This is just pissing me off even more.

I personally hate 99.9% of what Bush has done, but I would rather have him go down in history as being right than for Iraq to collapse (which it undoubtedly will). I am not saying that the ends justify the means, but I would rather have some good come out of the situation than none.
