My most memorable moment is pretty personal, and I don't like to talk about it. The second most memorable would be my high school graduation, and the party after where my mom got drunk. I had never seen my mother drunk before, and frankly, it scared the hell out of me.

Quiberon, France. sitting in a delightful, cool pizza restaurant watching people walk past the promenade just outside, and bake on the beach just beyond that. being served by french guy with awesome dreadlocks, who spoke amazingly good english. being in that restaurant for hours. having two pizzas right after another because they were so yummy... being with the love of my life on our special day in the sun :) :fluffle:

#1 goes under the "too personal" classification.

#2 would probably be meningitis. I woke up one morning with a horrific fever, it got worse until I couldn't even walk or sit up because it felt as though the entire world were spinning around me, I vomited anything I ate, and I had (thankfully) inexplicable memory blankouts. Not to mention, we were living in a foreign country without such a developed healthcare system at the time, and my parents were 3 hours away for most of the day. My first near-death experience, yay :P

I was able to call my parents before it escalated, so they informed a doctor, who took me to a private clinic (the hospitals are apparently unsanitary and require bribery to get anything done), where I received injections and medication and was sent home capable of ambulation. For the next few days I subsisted on glucose supplements and further injections until it cleared up and my head didn't fall off after all. That was about 8 years ago, and my only extremely vivid pre-depression memory, so I guess it counts as memorable. (Then again my memory has a habit of retaining a lot of useless things and obfuscating others, so meh.)

Finding out about the death of and the funeral of one of my best friends, aged 10.

A suicidal moment partly caused by the perceived rejection of another best friend, aged 15.

Acceptance phone call from my college (I had been put into a 'pool' from which colleges could pick after me not getting into my first choice college), aged 17.

Funeral of my grandfather, aged 17.

So, several, not just one moment.

Mmm... there are so many that stand out. I don't know if I have one most memorable moment. I could list the top ten, maybe, but a lot of them would be fairly personal.

One of them would be the walk to my boyfriend's house after our first serious fight. For some reason, I can *always* see one particular scene in my mind - just past the corner of his street, listening to "Breathing" by Lifehouse, crying my eyes out as the orange streetlight reflected off the wet pavement. Not a happy memory, I guess, but it means something to me nonetheless - and it ended extremely well, so it's okay.

I really don't know. I don't have many memories. I either forget them or repress them.

But one thing that comes to mind is when I was hanging around a girl who I liked. Her best friend said "Back off, she's mine!" I shouted back that that made no sense. Two other memories which come to mind are when this girl's friends told me to go away because I was being a stalker. I was trying to ask her for a dance. Not happy memories.

But, on a happier note, she moved, and hopefully I'll never have to see white hide nor blonde hair of her ever again.

I've had many memorable moments in my life. So, I'm choosing one of them.

It was the day I graduated boot camp from the Navy. I was so happy to be getting out of that Hell hole. It was the most miserable two months of my life but they were a life altering two months. I became a strong willed man who could do just about anything. My mother was so proud of me when our division marched in for the ceremony. I was in my uniform adn when the ceremony ended I searched through the crowd but she found me first. I ran towards her and we hugged. She was crying, I was crying and she kept saying through the tears of joy of how proud she was of me. I had accomplished something great and she knew it too.

Either the 'road' trip from to amsterdam with my best friends from frankfurt, the three (I think;) ) days that followed, or my first solo:

I had been preparing for my first solo aircraft flight for ages, and when my instructor finally got out of the plane and left me alone, I was pretty psyched. I had noticed as I taxied out an F-18 parked on the tarmac (at a tiny little airport, remember. Very strange- I still don't know why he was there). I was too excited to really pay much attention to it, but anyway I did my thing, flew 3 touch-and-gos of the airport, landed, the controller congratulated me on my first solo, then the F-18 pilot said:
"(my call sign), confirm this is your first solo?"
"roger that."
"congratulations and welcome to the club."
Then I talked a bit more and we worked out how to pass on the taxiways.
After I taxiied back and passed him on the taxiway, he took off and did several screaming low fly-bys of the airport then left, leaving me understandably awestruck.
Maybe this doesn't sound like much, but to a student pilot on his first solo to be 'welcomed' by an F-18 pilot is like talking to God. It still sticks in my mind as incredible (although that was only like a year ago).

Almost. I was an A-6 bombardier when I was on active duty. I do have a PPSEL/Instrument ticket, but I can't afford the gas I need to buy to stay proficient and safe.

I'm just joking about the pilots. They're mostly good guys, but you have to be pretty cocky to do well at the job they have.

And congratulations on the solo. Consider your shirt tail clipped and hung on the wall.

easy for me....the days both of my children were born...my girl was something special...3 weeks premature, only 3.5 pounds.had to keep her in an incubator for a week till she got over 5 pounds before the hospital would release her to us.

it was simply.....i am at a loss for words....perfect?

she is now, beautiful and going to law school next year.

my son was just a big little fella...healthy and not so happy..lol(born cutting teeth)
had a few rocky spots with him...but now he is graduating high school with straight a's,and allready completed bootcamp last summer down at fort benning, and after graduation..back too benning for advanced infantry training...and if he doesnt get deployed after that, college to be a state trooper.

20 years ago if i was asked this question..i would have thought about a girl i had been with that i liked...or some jump i made on my motorcycle i didnt think was possible..now it is the only truly great memory i have.or at least remember first.

Is it a bad thing if all of your happiest memories are recollections of vivid dreams? :p Really though, all my best memories are from dreams.. the real world is less interesting. Lying on the concrete after having a stroke, this one crazy fight I got into in New Orleans, and my first month on the road after getting my CDL probably qualify as interesting memories, though mundane.
