As much as 15F above normal.

Send us some inches of snow.

<- glad she bought her house south of the NYS Thruway.

We have a few people at work who live up there who haven't been in all week -- they spend the day digging out and wake up to find two more feet of snow in the driveway. One woman I work with, who lives in Parish, brought in pictures yesterday. It's a lot of snow, but not unheard of in some of those towns. They said on the local news this morning that there were unconfirmed reports of the town of N. Redfield having over 120 inches already. The Tug Hill plateau gets socked regularly with massive amounts of snowfall. The fact that it's in Oswego, where people actually live, is the only reason it's on the national news. Anyone in their 50s will talk about the blizzard of 66, where they had something like 16 feet of snow.

As long as your roof doesn't cave in, it eventually melts. :D

This afternoon it decided to stop snowing snowflakes and start snowing little balls of ice. On me. You try eating a cake when ice keeps falling on to it.

NYers got all the luck.

In Holland we had a 'weather alert', people were told not to leave their houses if not needed, 10% of the train services were cancelled as precaution and people at work were told to leave early otherwise there would be major traffic jams everywhere.

Why you may ask? They expected 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) of snow...

Well, In that case, I want 100 inches of snowfall, but without the power outages, so I can stay connected to NSG while basking in 100 foot snow cover!

That sounds like North carolina. Except my county. There could be 238 inches of snow, -72 degree wind chill, plus 80 mph winds, and my county would STILL have a regular school day, but the counties all around us would cancel school for 3 weeks.

71 inches of snow equals over 7 inches of liquid rain. That is impossible that much rain fell in a night. Might want to check that time frame again. Unless of course Gods going to flood NY.

I heard on jay leno a few years ago that some hebrew prophet (modern day guy who still lives AFAIK) or whatever predicted that the USA would be destroyed in a huge flood in 2007. That's this year!

Wouldn't that be ironic. Well guess I better go out and find myself a boat. Maybe now I can convince the wife to buy a new boat! :p

it's about being prepared and what is normal...on our west coast in Vancouver and Victoria snow is rare so when it does snow even small amounts the cities become paralyzed, neither the cities or the people are equipped to deal with it, they just wait till it melts....where I grew up we had moderate amounts of snow but it would build up over the winter without melting from October until April, the cities had the proper snow clearing machines and people knew how to drive in those conditions...and those days it was far colder than now...now a cold day is -30c; back then -40 was considered cold and a -30 day was mild, -20 was warm, -10 t-shirt weather...and never was school ever canceled even at -43 with a wind chill of -75c...
