I left it ambiguous because some people favor college teams. I favor NCAA B-Ball to the NBA. BTW, it was quite a game last night. I can't say that your Spartans had a fun time.

It depends on whether you mean the one you most like to watch or the one you most like to play. I'd far rather watch basketball than baseball, but baseball is often more fun to play. Football is kind of in the middle either way.

I voted for baseball, and my favorite team is the New York Yankees. As for playing, whiffleball is close enough to baseball (except the bat and ball are plastic).
As a bit of trivia, I used to live real close to the Whiffleball company, in Shelton, CT.

You're right. Golf takes a lot more skill. I would like, however, for there to be less of a "quiet while this millionaire stands over his shot" vibe about it. If I can make the same shitty swing every time while standing on a cheap muni course while every idiot who drives by thinks it's abso-fucking-lutely hilarious to yell "Fore!" in the middle of my backswing, then dammit, Tiger Woods can deal with the click of a camera shutter or a ringing cell-phone during his.

lol....thats funny as shit....i was just golfing, and my friend cracked a beer while i was in my backswing...it went onto the highway...his advice was to ignore extraneous noise....lol....ok...it degenerated from there.

Baseball takes the most skill, its the only game that the defense controls the entire offence. In golf there is too many variables

i almosty had a heart attack playing fusball...cause i am an idiot and i like to make my kid laugh....i did a little too much and played pingpong till i was loose enough to play fusball...damn near killed me...but my point remains...any competitive game requires your attention...no matter what game.

baseball is undeniably great, but i think hockey and football (american, of course) ranks up there right next to it. i love how football begins in october, while baseball has its postseason and hockey is starting up, then football has the superbowl in february while hockey is getting good, then april rolls around and baseball starts up again while hockey is in the postseason. love it.

Never liked sports much. The barely-concealed homoerotic teenage-jock culture, the sweaty men running about pointlessly grabbing balls. Bleh.
Besides, America's main sport is war, which is if nothing else much more entertaining. Which would you rather see, some grown man in tights caressing a pigskin, or an M1A1 tank crushing and killing a child beneath its steely metal feet? I rest my case.

Street hockey is much better. Cuz if you fall, there is a real good chance on not getting back up (or at least how we used to play)

I think their rational was higher scoring=more people coming to, and watching games.

I find that most folks who don't understand grappling don't get the UFC. Many of the fights go to the ground, and if you don't understand how to set up submissions and how to maneuver to escape you think you're just watching two guys rolling around on the mat. Since I wrestled in high school, and studied mixed grappling and some Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu it's easier for me to appreciate what's going on.

Well I figured it wasn't going to be any better for me. The guys that owned the place were real assholes to me, and with me being very cocky going in, it just made everything worse. I didn't feel like being destroyed everday by these guys.
But eh, if worse comes to worse, and I need to fight, screw grappling, I have these nice ol' legs of mine that give quite a beating.

Sure it was, but it's stupid. Has it increased attendance? Not really. All it did was alienate some of the hardcore fans like me. I haven't even watched a single game since they changed the rules, and I used to be an addict (much to my gf's torment).

Yeah, I can't kick all that well. Definitely not high kicks. I'm decent at boxing though, and I've got some neat dirty tricks including throws and joint locks from Silat. Plus I once choked a guy out within seconds in a drunken fight.

Indeed. Not nearly as much fun to watch as it is to play, though. So if we're talking about sports that are fun to watch, I have no answer for the OP.

Overall I would have to say baseball. I like to watch all levels from t-ball through the pros. But I really like college football. They play well with great emotion that just isn't in the pros. Pro football is rather boring.
On the other end, I don't know enough about soccer to comment. But have never seen any appeal to basketball. There just isn't enough defense to make it interesting. So of the choices given, basketball is at the bottom.

Come to think of it Rodeo is my favorite, but most people have no idea how much skill it takes.
There are also some that are up there to do, (golf, bowling) but terrible to watch.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned NASCAR. Not at the top for me, but not one I reject either.

Reading sports illustrated more carefully and stuff, I'm recently gaining the suspicion that defense exists in basketball. I know it may not seem like it, but apparently there are even teams built around good defense. *shrugs* Personally I only watch March Madness for basketball though.
