Apparently someone has decided to make a game out of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

A Positive Message: The goal of the player as the leader is to establish a stable resolution to the conflict and win the Nobel Prize before his or her term in office ends. The difficulty level can range from calm to violent.

Maybe the leaders of the respective groups should have a go at it? Or at least watch other players in action! Maybe it could give them some ideas...

Well, it isn't hard to do much better than the current leadership (on both sides) so getting the positive message should be easy.

Lots of base building (by one side anyway.....)

Do you win the game by not losing your patience with it and hitting "Esc"?

One thin would make it great - if you're losing, you can establish peace with the option of "Fuck it, I'm nuking the whole damn place."

No, if that was the case then nobody would ever win.

Personally I think the interface should include a 'Bitchslap National Leader' icon: whenever one of the sides acts like a child then you get to slap the appropriate leader silly. If only we could do the same in real life. :(

I wonder what the "last resort" option is.

I fear they've already watched someone (http://youtube.com/watch?v=BWv8krmwjs8) play a computer game and followed his example.

No, you mean "act pre-emptively before they barbarously murder yours"you need more balance.. (if its a potato in Israel.. It should be a potato elsewhere.)

its either
"pre-empt theirs scientist before they pre-empt yours"
or"
"barbarously murder their scientists before they barbarously murder yours"

you cannot have it both ways baby.. unless you are FOX/CNN/AP ;)

There was a game back in the 80's or early 90's, cant remember the name...
Conflict: Middle East or something like that, no relation to any present day games of the same title.

Anyway, you could control any state from Iraq to Egypt, do research, suck up to the Soviets or Americans, and, if you liked, develope nukes and blow the hell out of your neighbors.

In the end the game rated how well you did based on your countries status when you were kicked out of office/executed (as often happened), how peaceful things were, and how much territory you controlled.

I seem to recall Re-establishing the Ottoman Empire in one game, which was pretty fun :P
