Cam does not work.

Ok, so I brought Kay a web cam, and it's just like mine. However, her will not work because she is missing a CFI CIF Chip, and apparently you need that chip for the web cam to work. I don't know why this is a problem, I mean this is the same web cam I have and I didn't have any problem installing it and getting it running. Can anyone help us out? Also, it is a USB cam, and she does have it in a USB port.

I'd say she needs another webcam, or to get a motherboard with that chip.

Hooray I just flushed $20 down the frickin' drain. It was an early Valentines Day Present too. :( So I'm guessing there's no work around for this.

If it was one of those generic webcams with no installation CDs in the box then, yeah, you flushed them. Maybe you can get drivers by looking for 'cif single chip drivers' but that's a tedious affair.
There's a reason why they are so cheap.

Nah it had a CD, and she did install it that way. That's where she got the error message at.
